Not sure if this has been said and I would assume the BW fans know this but if the stadium seating rotates as is has since the games moved to BG in 2009 then BW will be on the home side this year. That is the smaller, newer side that has the suit on the upper level with roofed seating on top. H will be on the larger, older visitors side.

I wont swear to this but MF having been ever year since 2009 and it has rotated. We were on visitors last year so we would be on home side this year. Now we are in 2A but its my understanding that it is all West in all classes and vise versa East. Of course this could be the year there is a change but I would be surprised given that it didn't change in all the previous years.

A couple of tidbits for this game:

 

Hazard and Beechwood also meet for the Class A Baseball title in May. Not sure if this has happen before.

 

Hazard and Beechwood both dress Freshman Female FG kickers. If the game gets out of hand one of those girls may be the first to kick in a state title game.

Sitting in Holiday Inn @ 5:38, sipping a merlot with my homeside tickets in the BW section in hand. Here 24 hours in advance, because I wanted to be sure to see the Tigers at noon tomorrow and take in another Championship game that evening. Have to leave Sat morning for wife's family Christmas. Worse case, would be here for Thurs night reschedule if they paralleled last years actions and maybe another one or two on Friday. Had my room reserved for last two weeks.

 

Well, the KHSAA outslicked me. Reschedule gets me one game tomorrow night. Oh, well, it's the important one to me. So, I will quit complaining. As great a location BG is, the WKU post season scheduling is a nightmare for everyone. Hope we take the Championships to Louisville and eliminate these logistic last minute shufflings for teams, administrators, fans, hospitality venues, and the KHSAA. No one can be happy about this crazy inability to plan.

Taken a look from the 2-deep roster beechwood will have 4 senior skill guys and 1 senior lineman.. This is just starters. Hazard will start 3 senior lineman and 1 skill guy. On defense beechwood will start 4 seniors, Hazard will start 3.

 

Here's the breakdown for Beechwood on offense and defense.

5 seniors,3 juniors,3 sophomores. Defense 4 seniors,4 juniors,3 sophomores.

 

Hazard on offense has 4 seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores, 1 freshmen..Defense has 3 seniors, 5 juniors, 3 sophomores.

Game day! How's the weather looking and anyone there know how big the attendance will be?

This game looks evenly matched. Both teams have been excellent throughout the playoffs winning games by larger margins than expected. Both offenses are able to pass and run effectively. Hazard looks stronger running the ball. Beechwood looks stronger passing the ball. The Beechwood defense has been better than Hazard's throughout the season but Hazard's defense is playing their best football of the year in the playoffs. I give the edge to Beechwood's defense and that is why I believe the Tigers will win this game.
