Can anyone share specifics on Hazard's Corey Smith? Size, speed, class? Nearly 200 yards per game and nearly 40 TDs is off the charts. Like to hear about this young man.

Kid is about 5,11 about 200lbs and he's not got d-1 speed like phelps has for Paintsville but he is fast enough to run away from defenders. He is a junior.

You can probably look him up on hudl or max preps and look at the videos from there.

Does Beechwood have any injuries?

Beechwood and Hazard both played Somerset. Beechwood won 29 -7 Hazard lost to Somerset 33-15. Taking the Tigers 28-13.

If you think for a second that silly little factoid is gonna tell ya something your WRONG! Another fact Pikeville beat Hazard this season Paintsville beat Pikeville handily! Trust me those games can be thrown out the window. This IS NOT the same Hazard team that played summerset and Pikeville! The small line of the Beechies and small receivers although fast will be covered! Oh if you liked Pugh last year? We'll have fun with Corey Smith!! Good luck! These Backs from the East EAT!

I will take speed over size all day!!

What about speed AND size?

What about speed AND size?

I think you know the answer to that. We are not talking about Colerain..Hazard might have some bigger kids with some speed but as far as overall team speed I'll take the Tigers..

Speed is an asset that can be controlled, unless you combine it with disciplined players that play smart and with courage. To me that was the entire story of BW's victory over Russelville. The Panthers may have been as fast as BW, and certainly nearly 30 lbs per man bigger (eye test...no programs); but, the Tigers played their best defensive game of the year. Obviously, the team was well prepared for the deceptive Wing T, and executed the game plan near perfection. Tigers interior line play has risen to levels I didn't think they were capable.

Yes it just one game. Common opponent. Beechwood will need to bring it A game Friday night. This year Beechwood alot more healthy then last year game. What time does Highlands play this weekend?

Team tackling will be a must for Beechwood. Corey Smith is hard to bring down. He will not outrun the Beechwood defense but he will break tackles and keep going till the swarm brings him down. It is going to to take a team effort to stop him.

Yep. A lot smaller and younger as well! Way to much POWER coming BW's way this time! Their NOT stopping Hazards O. Best they can do is throw A LOT and hope they can match TD's and be the last to score.

Well young man that is why they play the game now isn't it. If size always mattered we wouldn't have won all the State Titles we have won.

I'm not sure how many TDs the Beechwood first team Defense has given up in the last 9 games but it is probably 2 or less. I think NCC scored once and there may have been one more.

Beechwood usually has pretty good size. In 2008 there line was bigger than hazards. They also had the D-1 lineman who went to Central Michigan and a few other players who played in college.

Hazard is playing pretty good ball right now and having players healthy and some that didn't play in the regular season due to injuries back is a major helping factor.

Beechwood should give hazard problems if their QB stays accurate like he has been all season long. Hazard has been the underdog now for 3 weeks straight and he'll many picked Williamsburg to upset them. if hazard can stay away from turnovers I like there chances.

Beechwood usually has pretty good size.

I believe this is the smallest BW team I can remember in the last 20 years, in fact ever. Definitely the smallest team I have seen on the field at any level this year. Speed, intellect, and effort best describes this gang tackling, well rounded team that does not defeat themselves with execution mistakes.
