I believe this is the smallest BW team I can remember in the last 20 years, in fact ever. Definitely the smallest team I have seen on the field at any level this year. Speed, intellect, and effort best describes this gang tackling, well rounded team that does not defeat themselves with execution mistakes.

Just took a peak at last years poll and it was 69 to 28 in favor of beechwood.

Well young man that is why they play the game now isn't it. If size always mattered we wouldn't have won all the State Titles we have won.

we're not talking speed. we're talking SPEED. these beechwood kids are stupid fast everywhere this year. Hazard may have speed but they don't have that kind of speed. But i do think the size difference levels the playing field. should be a good matchup

As you can see, the stats are insanely close. I think we have ourselves a classic in the making. Only stand-out difference is on average BW gives up 8.2 or roughly a TD less per game than hazard. There is danger in doing any statistical comparison because I'm sure both teams could have won some games on the schedule 100-0 if they wanted to.

Interesting. Do you think they have more coming back next year than Beechwood? Beechwood is very young.

very true. Also Holy Cross Covington this year was quite the team. I definitely believe BW has played a harder schedule and proven themselves through it. That win against Holy Cross has bigger weight than any hazard has to offer.

Paintsville is a big win.. Believe was the number 1 team in class A. Plus they beat Pikeville @Pikeville and Williamsburg @ Williamsburg.
