I understand the ego aspect of it, but serving as a mentor to a young QB would probably do more for his legacy than being the guy who wanted to win one himself. He could add a couple years to his career and career earnings, and maybe have the occasional Falco-esque game if Dak goes down. My inner novelist wants to see it play out that way. I easily can with the Broncos. They are a QB away from another title with the defense they have. This is the live for now NFL.

No he is not Payton good, but he a lot, lot better than anything they have. He is also very fragile for whatever reason. His back issues would concern me, not his play.

I've spent years talking my Cowboys fanatic friend off the ledge with him. He's not Peyton though.
November 17, 20169 yr The first impression I had from listening to his speech was that he has a lot of class. The Cowboys shouldn't be in a hurry to get rid of him. The NFL is awfully hard on QBs. He is one hit away from being the Cowboys QB for the remainder of the season.

And one of the losses came against a dominant Carolina team that also rebroke his collarbone.

In fact I don't know if I would want a player who would rather be a backup. Any competitive player wants to play. It's not about saving your rep or whatever. It's about getting the chance to play football.

November 18, 20169 yr I have watched him fumble and throw picks his whole career. He has been a very good qb, not an elite QB It's not as if Dak is an elite QB at this point either. Just saying, Romo has always gotten more of the blame than he deserved. Far worse QBs have won titles thanks to circumstances breaking their way. Romo had virtually every break go against him.
November 18, 20169 yr The last year the Manning played he was absolutely horrible, I think Romo is better than that Manning for sure. I would take the hit and keep him, I agree they will need him at some point.
November 18, 20169 yr As someone who supports a team who needs to start looking towards the future in regards to a QB, I hope Dak has all the success possible.
