November 9, 20169 yr Though in theory a balance within the House and Senate is supposed to be effective, for far too long it has proved counter-productive with fighting and resistance. The plus that I'm hoping for is that now that the House, Senate, and Presidency are shared by the same party we'll see things get done, and hopefully for the better, and that those who hold these seats in this shift of power are responsible and help honor the country with progress and respect for every race, color, creed, gender etc... I was never a fan of Donald long before he ever ran for president and admittedly the idea of listening to him for the next 4 years is unsettling, but I do hope that we see more of the calmer man that we saw in his victory speech, and that he makes good on his promise to try to unify our country.
November 9, 20169 yr There's a part of Joe Biden that is filled with regret for not running.Biden would have won convincingly
November 9, 20169 yr If you enjoy being a political spectator as I do then last night was great. Ranks right up there with 2000. Agree, I found myself up way past my bed time glued to the TV. I am paying for it today and I am sure my 17 year old counterpart will be struggling at school today as well.
November 9, 20169 yr I'm still blown away. As a democrat in Kentucky, there's no denying that yesterday was a complete and utter disaster for the candidates I support. Heck, even the two people I supported in non-partisan races for judgeships lost. The party has two years to try and regroup but... I'm pretty skeptical today.
November 9, 20169 yr Here's where we're at as a country. When Mr Trump gave platitudes about uniting as a country a supporter yelled "Kill Obama."
November 9, 20169 yr No one can speculate another candidate would have won convincingly. Hillary was suppose to win convincingly.
November 9, 20169 yr Maybe I'm stupid....I see a lot of puntlative measures in that list....but how does any of that bring jobs back to the US? Enforcing and renegotiating trade deals. Also, lower corporate tax rate. Right now, companies save a lot of money overseas on labor, but also on taxes they never pay from international profit by stashing cash overseas. Get rid of these loop holes and labor stays or comes back because the financial advantage of leaving is far less rewarding. Top 5
November 9, 20169 yr One thing I think we have to give Trump credit for.... He said all throughout the primaries that he would put blue states in play that no other Republican could do. He won Wisconsin, he won Pennsylvania, he's winning Michigan, he's winning New Hampshire.
November 9, 20169 yr There's a part of Joe Biden that is filled with regret for not running. Yep Biden would have won convincingly Yep He won Wisconsin, he won Pennsylvania, he's winning Michigan Winning one of those three would have surprised me. Taking all 3? Wow.

Top 5 U.S. companies hold $1.4 trillion in cash offshore - Apr. 14, 216 So...lay out how those Ford jobs will come back. Break down the pros and cons in terms of $ to stay in Mexico, vs reestablish in the US.
November 9, 20169 yr I'm not sure where this should go but do you all agree with Van Jones calling this a "white lash" essentially saying that white people are racist. That is ridiculous and insulting. Hillary didn't lose because she was a woman nor win because she is white (as I recall). It was about frustration with Washington's policies and leadership. It is satisfying to me to wake up to the fact that most Americans do not want to live in a socialist country and did something about it. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the demographics of the person representing the policy!
November 9, 20169 yr So...lay out how those Ford jobs will come back. Break down the pros and cons in terms of $ to stay in Mexico, vs reestablish in the US. Right now there is no incentive for Ford to come back. With the right policies and enforcement, there may be within the next four year.
