November 5, 20169 yr I've been saying it all year, Kelly is coaching his last season in South Bend. He's an average coach and a horrible person. I for one couldn't be happier to see him fail.
November 5, 20169 yr Am I an apologist if I say he's not on the hot seat for this season? I do not believe he will be fired. Next year though.... You can be on the hot seat without getting fired. If this season is going so poorly that another one could lead to his termination, then that by definition would be "On the hot seat" IMO. As far as what what does that make you, I have no idea...but I also haven't seen you in past weeks or this week making apologies for Notre Dame's poor play. So apologist, probably not. Also probably not a realist if you don't think his seat is heating up a bit. After all Les Miles wasn't fired last season, but he sure was on the hot seat...which lead to him quickly being fired at the first signs of poor performance by the team this year. Just like Miles last year Kelly is on the hot seat.

Led was fired but they changed their mind in the 11th hour. I don't see BK being fired so I don't see it as being equivalent.

November 6, 20169 yr On the positive side of posting, how 'bout them Middies! In my opinion, Ken Niamatalolo is the best football coach in America. Year in and year out, Navy competes with top teams, using lineman outweighed by 50 pounds and running only the triple option. This year, they had to replace a QB injured in the 1st game, as well as their defensive captain. If you have never shelled out a little money to stay in Annapolis and attend a game, as well as take a tour of campus, I highly recommend it. Awe inspiring. We do every year.
November 6, 20169 yr ^ Great Colonial town - my dad's family is from Annapolis. I learned to drive there. My great-grandfather was mayor nearly a century ago. Spent a lot of time there in my formative years.

November 17, 20169 yr Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me.... At the end of the day can't argue that. They haven't been a good team this year, good teams win close games and they havent. With that said Notre Dame could be one of those teams we see every year that follows a bad year and comes out and surprises people the next year. It will come down to qb play though because no way Kizer comes back since he is most likely a top 10 pick.
