November 3, 20169 yr If the Cubs lose, it will go back to pulling Hendricks too early. On the walk when he was pulled (no one on and two outs), he threw 4-5 strikes to the batter, but only got two called--He was fine. Leave him in and try to get him through the sixth, and then let Lester try and start the 7th if you'd like. I'd have tried to set up Chapman for no more than one inning due to the overwork last night.

True about Hendricks, makes you think maybe he should've been better informed(by someone with more angles/info) as to how he was throwing vs what was being called. I was really surprised they pulled him that quick.
November 3, 20169 yr Joe M looking like a genius at the moment No he's not. Should have been doused with champagne a long time ago.

November 3, 20169 yr The real star of the postseason is Smoltz. Any chance he can work all the postseason games in 2017? I want him as Reds manager.
November 3, 20169 yr Hayward had a bad at bat. Bases loaded and one out and he swung at pitches in the dirt.
November 3, 20169 yr Joe M looking like a genius at the moment Really? I say the Cubs are looking like the team with the better players. Even if the Cubs win, it doesn't change the mistakes Maddon made managing in this series. There is no way to excuse pulling Hendricks when he did tonight. Terrible. The Cubs just have a better team.
November 3, 20169 yr Cubs manager breathing a little easier. Tonight has not made him look too great as a manager.
November 3, 20169 yr Author Maybe Lackey in the 10th First guy I thought of. Perfect situation for a guy like him.
November 3, 20169 yr Author No he's not. Should have been doused with champagne a long time ago. Like, an hour+ ago.
November 3, 20169 yr At the end of the day his decisions still got them a title. As much as people can question his pitching decisions, his decision to change the batting order for these last 2 games worked out great.
