October 31, 20169 yr I just had an interesting phone conversation. A guy named "Edward", with a heavy accent that sounds like he was from India called to say that our network was down and he wanted to me to go to my computer and he could show me. I told him that this is a scam and that Microsoft doesn't cold call anyone about a problem with their computer. He said, There is nothing wrong with your computer If you would go to your computer so I can show you what is wrong with your network. I said this is a scam and what you are wanting is control of my computer to steal my information. He said no sir that is not it. My wife then asked for his name and phone number. He gave us the name Edward and a fictitious phone number. My wife asked him for his last name and he said something and She didn't understand him. She asked again then he hung up. So much for customer service. I forgot to mention we had him on speaker phone. I let him talk to my wife first before I said anything. Don't anyone fall for this scam.
October 31, 20169 yr I too have had that one, and of course like everyone else, many other calls. If you ever need a laugh go check out this site: Blog – Jolly Roger Telephone and listen to some of the calls this guy has recorded. He has created answer machine robots that answer these scammers questions. I think they are all posted out on youtube. They are hilarious. And of course as he says the best part of it all is that he, well his robots, keep the scammer on the phone so they can not be calling anyone else.
October 31, 20169 yr Got the same call a few days ago. Told the guy I'm not interested, he told me I could get in trouble if I didn't comply....LOL. I told him that's OK, I like trouble and he then hung up on me. I love playing around with these jokers.
October 31, 20169 yr We've been fielding these, my wife and I, for the last 3 months. I wish they would stop. After a while, having fun with them gets old.

October 31, 20169 yr My guy sounded British. Told him I was born at night, just not last night. He repeated it and I could tell he was a little confused. So I told him to go play a game of hide and go screw yourself. Followed up with calling him a thief a scammer and.......click.
November 1, 20169 yr I love these calls, I try to keep them on the phone as long as possible. Last call I got I answered and said, "Thanks for calling WPIG, you are the third caller. Do you know the phrase that pays?" Last guy was so confused, he actually talked to me a few minutes. My calls normally end with them start g to cuss me out when they realize I've been messing with them. Yeah, I have a lot of free time :lol2:

When the scammer finds out it is not a real person they have spent the last ten minutes conversing with - the language gets colorful! I have tried some of the 'techniques' that these robots use on the Scammers - it is fun: 'Hold on my dog just took a dump on the floor I have to clean up..........Ok, can you start over? What do you want?
