So your ok with no loyalty to the team you were just with or going to 3 different schools in 4 years.

 

There is a reason for rules but the problem the KHSAA doesn't follow them or they don't take the time to investigate them. I am all for someone transferring if its done within the rules. I'm sure we can all agree on that.

I have been a proponent of kids going where they want to go because they only get one chance to play sports in high school. Plus, I have always said to get rid of the transfer rules anyway as they are not going to be enforced most of the time because of the threat of a law suit.

Maybe its just me, but I don't see what all the upheaval is about the transfers being approved or denied. During my time as an AD, I knew pretty much filling it out whether they were going to be approved or not with dang near perfect accuracy, honestly don't remember ever sending one to the association without knowing what answer I was going to get in return.

 

It's all about the information that the receiving school supplies the KHSAA & whether there is any issues that are being contested by the sending school. The school I was at did a substantial amount of transfers in and out during my time & I never was surprised by any of the outcomes, this included in county, in state, out of state etc.....

Agree and to add to that. The KHSAA only looks at what is given to them. If the sending school doesn't object then there is not going to much reason to deny the transfer. If the sending school does then they better have some evidence to keep the transfer from being approved.

It almost sounds like they are doing a coin flip on approval. I wish they would just follow Ohio Transfer Rules.

Since she went to Notre Dame I'm assuming the transfer rule didn't originally apply because she went enrolled in a private school. So would the sending school be Notre Dame or Grant County in this situation. Her dad lives (d) in Grant County this whole time so I'm assuming it would be the public school district that she would have previously been enrolled in that would be the sending school. Am I making too much of this?

No, Notre Dame would still be listed on the transfer papers as the sending school.

Transfer rules are the exact same for private and public.

I am familiar with the transfer rules but I don't think those rules matter anymore. Don't bother with learning them or trying to understand them because they aren't being followed or enforced.
