Why does everyone get so bent out of shape about transfers?

 

Too much risk of shenanigans if transfers aren't monitored.

I think if a kid wants to transfer let them. Why punish them. My old AD would just check a kid had not played varsity if they wanted to transfer. Why keep a kid that doesn't want to be there.

There need to be rules and they need to be enforced to keep it as fair as possible for everyone else that plays by the rules. If a kid transfers legitimately, I have NO problem. If they transfer outside of the rules then they shouldn't be allowed to play at least not initially. College has their rules and the NBA has their draft.

 

As was mentioned before...If you go with the Ohio Rule where you sit out for so many games or percent of the season after transferring regardless of the situation, then I'd be okay with that.

Easier said than done, especially now. Just be honest on the transfer, if they played Varsity, just mark it. If they have their ducks in a row on the transfer to meet one of the exceptions, then its easy. If not, then that's on them.
