LRCW Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Sounds like a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Such a tragedy. Prayers for the family. Trinity Gay, daughter of Olympian Tyson Gay, dies after shooting at Lexington restaurant
jericho Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Awful and very sad. But what is a 15 year old girl doing out at 4 am at a restaurant.
LRCW Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 Awful and very sad. But what is a 15 year old girl doing out at 4 am at a restaurant. Any number of possibilities. Could have been a church lock in, could have been out with family. What does it matter?
Bluegrasscard Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 So, so mad. Just heard this a few minutes ago and went over to kentucky.com - front page. The location is on Broadway, south of downtown near the railroad track underpass. Cook Out there is sort of like a modern day White Castle. Open late - cheap (but good) fast food - so the kids love it. Definitely not a 'rough area'. To the contrary - its the up and coming area. We were there a few week ago after the South Carolina game - around midnight. Busy. At least one and maybe two security guards visible. Condolences and prayers.
mcpapa Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Any number of possibilities. Could have been a church lock in, could have been out with family. What does it matter? Exactly. I'm doubting that she was "asking for it".
ColonelCrazy Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I stayed at the hotel immediately behind the Cook Out Restaurant a little over a year ago. We were immediately told that it was a bad hangout and there had been multiple shootings there. That was September 2015. Sad story & senseless violence.
John Anthony Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Exactly. I'm doubting that she was "asking for it". She certainly wasn't and it's a horrible tragedy. RIP
littleluck55 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Maybe she got up early for a run and went to breakfast. Or she was going to breakfast and then going for a run. Or she was meeting a mentor who worked night shift. It could be any number of reasons. It sounds like she was minding her own business. Just sad.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 So very sad...Prayers for her family. Hoping that Lexington Metro catches the shooters. With 2 cars of people shooting g back and forth, you know someone e knows who was involved. Problem is, they probably won't come forward.
nWo Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 This breaks my heart. I knew Tyson and his sister Tiffany from their high school days at Lafayette High School. My daughter ran against Tiffany in track. I've had the privilege to talk to Tyson on many occasions back then. Prayers for the whole family.
nWo Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Awful and very sad. But what is a 15 year old girl doing out at 4 am at a restaurant. Why were people in two cars shoot at each other at 4 am at a restaurant? I know that this young girl didn't ask to get shot.

Well I have no clue, but that's about the time bad and dangerous people are out doing stuff. But I never said I wasn't sorry or sad about it.

All Blue Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Bad and dangerous people are out doing stuff at all times of the day not just 4 am in the morning. Mountain ref I understood what you was asking, because like my mom always said nothing good is happening at that time of night.
