So, so mad. Just heard this a few minutes ago and went over to kentucky.com - front page.

 

The location is on Broadway, south of downtown near the railroad track underpass. Cook Out there is sort of like a modern day White Castle. Open late - cheap (but good) fast food - so the kids love it. Definitely not a 'rough area'. To the contrary - its the up and coming area.

 

We were there a few week ago after the South Carolina game - around midnight. Busy. At least one and maybe two security guards visible.

I stayed at the hotel immediately behind the Cook Out Restaurant a little over a year ago. We were immediately told that it was a bad hangout and there had been multiple shootings there. That was September 2015.

Maybe she got up early for a run and went to breakfast. Or she was going to breakfast and then going for a run. Or she was meeting a mentor who worked night shift. It could be any number of reasons. It sounds like she was minding her own business.

Hoping that Lexington Metro catches the shooters. With 2 cars of people shooting g back and forth, you know someone e knows who was involved. Problem is, they probably won't come forward.

This breaks my heart. I knew Tyson and his sister Tiffany from their high school days at Lafayette High School. My daughter ran against Tiffany in track. I've had the privilege to talk to Tyson on many occasions back then.
