There is a Petrino lovefest going on in Louisville right now. If he beats Clemson, will Swinney abdicate as it's rumored Jimbo Fisher might? Make his job in the ACC easier.

..........although Clemson started slow last year, too, defeating Wofford 35-27 and Appalachian State 23-12 before playing UL.

I think your source is off. They beat Wofford 49-10 and App. St. 41-10 before the Louisville game.

I did see something that had Clemson's numbers through 4 games being identical to what they were at this time last year.

I get more concerned about the Clemson defense the closer we get to this thing. I'm curious as to what happens if they get locked into a struggle with Clemson or if this team has to play from behind. There's evidence they can do so with the number of lightning-fast touchdown drives already this season, but I'm having serious doubts about the level of test they actually faced in the FSU defense.

I can't wait for this game to be here.

FSU undoubtedly had better athletes on defense than Clemson does. That doesn't always equate to a better defense, but it's food for thought.

On the flip side, Louisville's defense is without question the best Clemson will have seen thus far, and outside of South Carolina State, they have been less than impressive on offense. Unless their defense just plays out of this world (which is possible), I'm not sure they can score enough points to win.

They beat the pants off of Wofford and Appalachian State before playing Louisville and Notre Dame in the first four games last year.

Then this year they played Auburn, Troy, South Carolina St., and Georgia Tech.

I'd buy that they could be playing the exact same as last year. The Troy result is the one that really concerns people about their offense but one game isn't fair. Even though they didn't blow them out, I saw some really good stuff from the Clemson offense against Ga Tech (a lot of it involving receiver Mike Williams) that would concern me greatly were I Todd Grantham.

This is going to be a defensive battle. Both teams are working harder getting their defenses prepared to stop the other teams dynamic offense. The more I think about it the more I think this game could be 28-21. Or something along those lines.

Some randoms…

Outside the Lines will have a story on Bobby Petrino at 1pm today (Friday).

My gut is that the Cards will win Saturday… but somewhat surprised to see BGP poll trending 60/40 in favor of a L’ville win. I thought it would be the other way around.

At any rate, 1 day to go.... Go Cards!

UK fan, UK graduate but I still would really like to see Louisville win this game and really make something out of this season. They are fun team to watch this year.

Clemson in a tight one at "home".

How well do Louisville fans travel? Will you be able to hear them at all Saturday night?

The sections sold to the university sold out ages ago so those sections will be full.

You won't hear the UofL fans for a couple reasons: 1) Clemson fans don't sell their tickets. They bought those season tickets and they're all going to be there. Very little red in the orange sections. 2) I found out two years ago that the mic the band and pump in noise through the speaker system.

First meal on the road was a gargantuan burger. I'm wrecked. :lol2:
