With 100% confidence, I see it posted over and over by Highlands defenders..."we knew this year was coming"..."2 year dip"..."the cavalry is coming". I would ask - to what are you basing this on? Frosh scores? JV scores? Youth football league scores? Those are Fool's Gold. Future success is guaranteed to no one. How do you know that this isn't the new normal?

Well last year they said the JV team was better than the varsity. That JV team isnt doing so well at the moment so who knows.

Experience of watching players come in and projecting their growth and development. This isn't like watching a Middle School team win a mythical state title and predicting glory. This is, while not an exact science, an educated expectation.

Yes, today. for now. but would you say the same in 5 years if the downward trend continues? Notre Dame used be the big dog in football, but boy do things change.

Seeing the size and number of athletes compared to years past. Having the results of the games played at the Frosh and JV games. Seeing improvements being made by other teams in NKY.

 

Jumping up in class to 5A when, in the recent past the KHSAA would not allow teams to move up. Seeing the heavy 6A schedule against teams that could not wait to take there shot at HHS.

 

The law of averages. How hard it is to stay on top for so long without some lapse.

I think one guy who acted like a Highlands fan said that.. That's funny how that dude disappeared and hasn't been seen since.. Why do people have to keep repeating themselves over and over again? I said it and numerous other people have said it for the past few years that HHS would be down these couple of years. If you think this is going to continue you will be sadly mistaken. Show us where "they" said that. That was a HHS poser. That person spewing all that was not an HHS person. Is so, where are they now. They clearly had an underclassman they thought should have been playing. We all knew that wasn't a HHS person last year. Could never answer a real HHS question and faded off into the sunset when they got called out! Lol

1-6, fell out of the state top 10. Barely hanging in the nky top ten. Has multiple running clocks put on them and have absolutely way more posts about a team on here than anyone!
