The games that count are coming up. The boys learned a lot from Friday's game and I am sure they will be better players for it. Never fun to get beat, but learning from defeat only makes them stronger for the coming run.

I hope the Birds this yr shock the world by the end of the season. I believe in these boys this yr. Yes the future is so bright and these haters in time will have to continue there hatred toward adding onto 23 titles already.

All came from great families. Some were bred Highlands football. Some grew up wanting to be part of Highlands football. And some had parents that wanted what was best for their kids to get the best education and athletic experience possible to help them advance to the next level.

 

So Mitchell transferring was because of those reason? I guess the Lorenzen family thought only one kid was worth sending to Highlands and then chose to send the other one closer to home, I guess they moved back to Kenton County after Jarrod, same with the Nevels. Let's not forgot the Frisk transfer from CovCath he wanted the better education right because a CovCath education isn't good enough.

I mean i have a few kids in the system an like I said the next 3yrs will bring a ton hungry kids who want to get the team back to winning titles! Has nothing to do if I coach or not! Means I know football and Highlands isn't lacking talent coming.

The mistake you are making, is that you are equating fans to players. To put it nicely, you are silly if you believe that the players are "playing for next season." I know you know this, and that you are just attempting to stir the pot, but this was just a downright weak attempt, with impressively minimal effort to do so.

It's hard to judge spikes and drops in competitive talent until they get in some type of competition against another team. All the crystal ball mystique stuff is nonsense and wishful thinking. High school kids develop so much between sophomore to junior and junior to senior years it almost unpredictable which kids will step up and how high until it actually happens. Yeah you can see some with talent and see the curve but the rest? That's like predicting Ryle will be awful without Morgan next year. Drop off sure, how much? Who knows and anybody who claims it is full of bologna. To say you see some kids coming that can help HHS program may be true, and they might be ahead of the athletic curve from the last group. But to predict that they will be the next sliced bread is arrogant. Seems like you guys lean on that side. You should be happy if your program turns the corner and changes direction. Right now is not the time to have these fantasies of domination. Support the kids playing now and stop throwing them away looking ahead to the next group because they don't meet YOUR expectations. Wonder how they feel hearing the stuff from you guys? When I was coaching, I coached effort. If I get 100% of your effort and we lose to better kids then so be it. As long as your kid's are giving effort then they deserve all the support and admiration you have regardless if they win you another dusty old trophy. I'm hearing rumors of empty stands and parents yelling at kids and coaches... Stinks really bad behavior wise. Clap and cheer, that's your jobs unless you have a whistle in your mouth and are called coach. You'll be happier and so will the players. This may be your new norm, who really knows?

 

So true, we're still going to Boone games. My kid may not see a victory before she graduates, but cheering them on anyway, they play hard, all we can ask, just kids.

So you're saying that NCC doesn't get this at their school?

 

That names from over a long period of time. Want to discuss the kids that went to NCC over that same period of time? What about other schools? Why is it always HHS on the chopping block? All schools get transfers and all schools get kids from out of their feeder areas. With maybe the exception of the Boone co schools. But I bet we could even find some athletes over the years at those schools as well.

 

People get on HHS because of the success. Just goes unnoticed as much at other schools because they don't have the same success. But the bulk of the success comes from internal. Not external.

 

Why do you always bring up the external stars....like they carried us or something. When this discussion comes up, people tend to overlook the internal guys...cause there's no story there! Hahahahahaha

5 of the 8 are outside guys. But you left a lot of stars off the list. Because you, like all the others, choose to only count the stars that came from other schools. You forget (or don't want to bring up because it doesn't support your argument) that over that same period of time there were several stars from within as well. But again, who cares about facts!
