How about Ludlow Baptist winning the second-half season of the Ludlow-Bromley Church Softball League 10-0 over Ludlow Presbyterian. Not surprised they won, but to to shutout Presbyterian was impressive...

What about Finkelman Furniture scoring a pair of victories over Bud's Pure Oil in the Camp Springs Men's Tuesday Night League.....Leroy Turner had 2 hits, including a homer, and "Dinger" Long also homered. Tom Freppon (Sr.) had 3 hits for the losers.

Great stuff.

Interesting, I looked up Highlands to see what record they finished with that year. They were AA state runnerups in 1966 and AA state champs in 1968 but went 6-4 in 1967. I bet that was a big upset at the time. Of course, Dayton was the A state champion in 1966.

Anyone know what record Dayton ended up with in 1967?

I believe Dayton went undefeated in the regular season with 1 tie in 1967 but then got upset in the playoffs.

BTW nice to see Yaz and Rico had a nice game for the Red Sox.

Where did you find that article? I know the Kenton Co Library has Microfilm with all of the old KY Posts editions going way back.

The Enquirer has a subscription-based archive. It's searchable by word, which is pretty awesome.

I can across this newspage looking for the score of Cov Cath's 1st varsity game.

Did Main Tavern win their softball game?

I thought that was against Ludlow Baptist. Lol

Was that an 8-man game? I know Mount Vernon and a few of the small schools around central Kentucky played 8-man at times.

That's a good question, but one I have no idea on the answer to, ha.

Mom graduated from Falmouth in 1967...lemme check with her on this.
