August 29, 201610 yr Urban Meyer doesn't agree with the suspension: Ohio State WR Torrance Gibson suspended for fall semester - Yahoo Sports Contrary to his beliefs, Meyer needs to understand that the University holds the gavel on his players suspensions or not. Rules are rules; athlete or not.

August 29, 201610 yr True or not true I'm not sure Meyer letting it be known he doesn't agree with the decision is the best play. With that said it shows he sticks up for his guys...... Tough spot. Can draw criticism and recruits or both.

The school was in a tough spot because they don't want to appear like FSU and Baylor, and Urban is in a tough spot because he has to stick up for his players to maintain the respect from the rest of the team, despite publicly going against the school. I'm sure the school understands why Urban had to publicly go against them and Urban understands the situation the school was in. Not much either side could do. You have to feel for the kid though. 2nd year, had to switch positions and RS 1st year. Then has a great spring game, but now he found himself, at best, 5th on the Depth chart at WR and passed by a true freshman. Then this comes out. If I had to guess I would say we won't ever see Torrance Gibson in an Ohio State uniform which is a shame because the guy is a hell of an athlete.

I don't know shut down a university of 40-50k students when kids are running around with toy guns. Suspending the QB a game in a redshirt season though, man Urban doesn't have that level of discipline. Carry on UK and UL fans.
August 30, 201610 yr I haven't read anything about this yet. How do we know it was consensual? They were posting pictures together, some were obviously a little premiscuous (which is the issue here) But the pictures were taken under her permission. I've read a lot about it on Rivals. I think the problem Urban has is that he is suspended for essentially the whole football season, seems a little harsh in Urban's opinion. So yeah, he shouldn't have taken the pictures and I fully believe Urban would have disciplined him internally and probably suspended him a couple of games, but to suspend the kid from the university for something with zero criminal charges seems unnecessary. But then again I give credit to the university for treating Torrance the same as any other student. I don't really fault anyone in this circumstance because I think all parties did what they had to. I think it will die down anyways simply because it was a 6th string WR.
