And the New Albany mob spreads its tentacles even further.

For anyone who has had steak 'n shake how does the food taste? Is it worth a try?

Good burgers, decent shakes and fries will be either you love them or hate them.

I prefer their burger to any other fast food burger around here, shoestring fries took me a while to like.

Definitely give it a try, go in though and sit down...drive thru is the slowest ever due to their process.

It's cheap.

Service is usually awful. Burgers are what you'd expect for $4-$5 burgers. Shakes are solid.

I'm a fan of Steak N' Shake, I think their burgers are very good for the price, and while I don't love their fries, I do LOVE their baked beans.

Their milkshakes are fantastic.

Like any franchise, service and quality varies by location. I've found that the smaller the city the better the Steak and Shake. The ones I've visited in larger cities are normally of lower quality.

Seems like the two in the Florence area have very slow service inside. We've stopped several times in the evenings for a shake, and have spent a good 30-40 minutes inside. Drive-thru much, much faster for just shakes. I'll defer to someone else as to the wait time for real food at the drive-thru.

We ate at one in Richmond back in June and were blown away by how fast the service was inside. Definitely a welcome surprise.

Burgers are really thin, done on a flat-top. As someone else has already said, fries are shoestrings, which I love. The only drawback to them is that they can get cold super quick.

We typically visit the Florence location when we go as it's closest. Worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant and it's not a one time thing. Doesn't matter the time of day, or the day of the week. Our quick meal always takes at least an hour and a half there.

I'll admit the few times we've been to other ones (Eastgate and Lexington/Georgetown area) the service has always been much better.

Not a fan. Outside of the milkshakes, I haven't found anything on the menu I like.

I agree the service is terrible Ive been to steak and shake all over and no matter where the service has been subpar BUT THEIR FOOD IS DELICIOUS!

I like the Royale burger, Frisco melt and the shoestring fries. It beats going to McDonalds.

I like Steak and Shake ,but I like Flipdaddys better .

We're getting one in Mt. Sterling as well! I'm pretty pumped.
