AverageJoesGym Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 UK finished 7th in the AP Poll after the 1950 season. That didn't keep the Wildcats from claiming the national title decades later and having a new trophy made for their new facility. Photo: Kentucky Football Created Itself A 195
mcpapa Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I have a 1966 University of Kentucky yearbook. The headline on the first page of the sports section reads: 1966 Kentucky Wildcats National and S.E.C. Champions
Randy Parker Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Sort of like the Helms titles in basketball. Pretty dumb.

RomanEmpire Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 In 1950 they beat undefeated Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl who had a 31 game winning streak. The Cats were declared number 1 in 3 major polls after the victory. Not all smoke & mirrors.
plantmanky Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 So thats how Stoops is going to save the program. Fake national title.
Getslow Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I didn't even post this. I think @TheDeuce and I have really matured.
TheDeuce Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I didn't even post this. I think @TheDeuce and I have really matured. I had faith someone would post it. :lol2: This is even too ridiculous for BBN to ignore. :lol2:

Which 3 major polls are you talking about?
Jumper_Dad Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I think national titles for the most part were determined Prior to the bowl games. UK defeating undefeated Oklahoma happened after the polls were completed, I think I'm right on that.
