July 11, 201610 yr I think most people have at least a pinch of redneck in them, and obviously some more than others, but what would you say is the most hillbilly thing about yourself? For me, it's probably how I talk. What say you?
July 11, 201610 yr I currently have a clothespin holding up the sun visor on the driver's side of my car. Easier than fixing it. I have a half installed ceiling fan in my family room. I'm not quite sure about the next step in the process, so I just left it dangling from the ceiling and went on to something else. It has been two weeks now.
July 11, 201610 yr Probably the bucket under the utility tub to catch the leak I haven't fixed....really only an issue in the summer since it's how the A/C condensate drain line is hooked up so it only leaks in the summer months....

Not sure how much Carolina "twang" I still have since I have lived in KY now since 1988, but at one time I had a mix of North Carolina/Sothern Virginia and KY accent. Used to have people all the time ask me where I was from. Both my mom and dad were poor tobacco farming families growing up...mom's side were by definition share croppers, dad's family did at least own their land, but little else. Dad's side is VERY red neck so I'm sure I have a little bit of that Vernon side in me. Mom's side was more reserved and "prim and proper" due to Nanny (mom's mom) ruling the house with an iron fist. Lot of my dad's side of the family stayed in the tobacco business for many years...we rented a small farm for a few years when I was just a little lad and raised it for a while. I don't think any of my mom's family ever touched tobacco once they all grew up and moved out, outside of my mom for those few years we did it.
