July 7, 201610 yr WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department is reopening an internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides. Spokesman John Kirby says the emails probe is restarting now that the Justice Department isn’t pursuing a criminal prosecution. The State Department suspended its review in April to avoid interfering with the FBI’s inquiry. Kirby set no deadline for the investigation’s completion. Clinton was secretary of state until early 2013. Most of her top advisers left shortly thereafter. But Kirby said this week former officials can still face “administrative sanctions.” The most serious is loss of security clearances, which could complicate Clinton’s naming of a national security team if she becomes president.
July 7, 201610 yr This has to be a joke. Have you seen this Kirby talk? The "investigation" will take years to finish and will say that she should not have done it but all is ok now.
July 7, 201610 yr This isn't going to be about Clinton but about whether the people who emailed her in the classified threads will keep their jobs or security clearances.
July 8, 201610 yr This isn't going to be about Clinton but about whether the people who emailed her in the classified threads will keep their jobs or security clearances. I agree. That goes to a question I asked in the Comey thread about how many people would have to be charged with crimes if Clinton were charged. It seems to me that any state department employees who communicated through Clinton's email server are guilty of crimes also if she is guilty.
July 8, 201610 yr This will be another time waster for the GOP again. You aren't going to get her. The GOP's tactics of attacking, going after, bothering , I have no idea what, takes their eye off the ball of winning the election. A focus on Clinton or Obama will win the south (white males and fundamental Christians anyway) and some midwest but not the majority of people. It hasn't worked in the past and won't work moving forward with her. The GOP doesn't get it when it comes to the Clinton's or don't appear to. Their supporters laugh and just ignore this. It has worked in their favor for a long time. Her supporters believe she did nothing wrong or if it is it is not that big of a deal, as much as her detractors think she did and it is a huge deal. Both are convinced 100%. If the GOP's energy and focus went after the Latino, African American, and gay vote with the gusto they go after Clinton, then keep religion out of the conversation and compromise on gun laws they'd land slide. Because fiscally the GOP has better solutions. Moderate Dems know this but just cannot stand the social injustices they hear and see. Barking up the wrong tree again.

The state department is in the executive branch. Who is the leader of the executive branch? Why are you mentioning the GOP?
July 8, 201610 yr The state department is in the executive branch. Who is the leader of the executive branch? Why are you mentioning the GOP? Because this is another thing to side track the GOP. The Dems know this.
July 8, 201610 yr Because this is another thing to side track the GOP. The Dems know this. It really isn't a side track it's a foregone conclusion some of Hillary staffers will be denied clearance. I doubt any prosecution but some will lose clearance.
July 8, 201610 yr The real question is how does HRC not lose her clearance. I know she most likely won't because she is a Clinton and rules don't apply to them but it will be interesting to see how the State Dept spins how some related to her could lose their clearance but HRC does not. For that reason, I would be surprised if any do.
July 8, 201610 yr The length of this investigation will probably allow these people to work for one term of the Clinton presidency. Any ramifications after that will just allow those people to sail off into the sunset and get private sector jobs.
