Cincinnati: Home of Terrible Drivers

Featured Replies

But we already knew that.

Allstate Insurance compiled a list of the 20 major US cities with the worst driving records. The Queen City ranked 17th, (and took a cheapshot from the author) and according to the findings, you are 35% more likely to have an accident in Cincy city limits than the average US city.

Boston ranked first, or last, depending on perspective, with accidents occurring at a 129% higher rate.

Now if we could just keep them on the North side of the river...

When I read this off the list I got a good laugh:

8. Miami, FL

Here’s a great idea: take an existing population that got their drivers licenses during Prohibition, then add in millions of drivers who got their licenses in countries where the traffic laws are enforced almost as much the election laws. Welcome to Miami -- now buckle up. :lol2:

I once performed an anecdotal - not statistically verified - study while at Morehead. About 20 percent of the student body was from Ohio. About 80 percent of the illegally parked cars on campus had Ohio plates.

If you have ever had the pleasure of driving up and down 1-75 in Cincy in the past few years, you would know why Cincy is ranked badly. 1-75 is a hot mess of construction and has been for years and will be for years. It seems like every day, they change lanes to accommodate the construction...it really is brutal.

I have lived and worked on both sides of the Ohio River...I have not noticed either Ohio or Ky drivers as being better or worse than the other...

I think we can all agree here that Hoosiers are the absolute worst.

Can't argue that one. Just awful.

I've told my friends Boston was the worst for 40 years, good to know things haven't changed.

Don't mistake Boone Co. plates for actual Kentuckians. They're Buckeyes at heart, and their driving skills show it.

Sorry, I'm gonna disagree there. Hoosiers got a long way to go to be as poor as Buckeyes.

Gonna to have to show this to a friend. He's from a small town, moved to Louisville, and firmly believes the worst traffic is centered there. He refuses to believe me when I tell him that Cincy traffic is worse.

Not surprised to see Philadelphia with that rating. Driving through that city's downtown during rush hour darn near gave me an ulcer. And that was only doing it once. I was careful to leave the city at very different time.

Louisville traffic may be worse, but the Cincy drivers are worse.
