June 26, 201610 yr Saw that the Wizards were rumored to give Joakim Noah a max deal. Wonder how that effects the market. Some say its true, some say it's not. J. Michael who is usually on top of it when it comes to Wizards news says its not true and any deal would be far from the max. In any scenario a max contract to Noah would be sabotage no matter what team it is. Wrong side of 30 with recent injury history and declining game and FG%. Not what you want out of a max player. The Wiz already have a serviceable and underrated player in Gortat, this move just doesn't make sense. They could use a rim protector and good interior passer but they do not need to go too crazy on an offer to Noah, especially with so many teams with cap room.

I heard an NBA expert say there would be a whole lot of "that guy got paid what?" during the FA period. Teams have to spend tons of money to hit the minimum which means tons of guys getting overpaid.

July 1, 201610 yr And I thought baseball salaries were crazy. And all guaranteed money. I feel sorry for the poor NFL players. Take way more damage and have far lasting health effects and their contracts aren't usually guaranteed. Can have salary of 10 mil over 3-4 years but get hurt and end up with zilch. The NFLPA needs to be on the phone ASAP with NBAPA and figure out what they're doing wrong. 82 million dollar salary floor in the NBA means a lot of people are going to be getting paid. The players can think the NBAPA for collectively bargaining such a high share of the tv money.
