June 19, 201610 yr I just ventured in and I'd thought Id give my two cents from a business standpoint. 1. Any business that has an inherent risk known to the public such as gators in Florida , Sharks in the ocean or even Bears in other resorts , that do not have people sign some sort of waiver are accepting some form of risk. Disney should have every guest and probaby will moving forward sign a waiver. Common sense as we have learned is irrelevant in this country with lawsuits. 2. Whether we like it or not, or as tragic this situation may be. The parents do bare a large part of the blame. This is a two year old and the parents should be with in inches at worst at a body of water. 3. I do find this situation much different from the Gorilla Exhibit. The zoo is advertised as an exhibit of wild animals , Disney is advertised as a family resort with no mention of wild animals that I know of or seen. 4. Disney is a multi billion dollar company it's smart business to pay this out because the PR of a dragged out lawsuit hurts the bottom line more than whatever they pay out. This is completely different from @rockmom and her resort when we are talking scale of operation. Companies this size pay out frivolous lawsuits all the time with PR in mind.

To be fair the couple times I've stayed in a Chalet in Gatlinburg I was specifically warned about Bears. At the end of the day right or wrong. Disney will pay to keep this out of the news.
