June 15, 201610 yr News reports said the child was holding the mothers hand at the time and the father tried to rescue the child. It was in a foot of water. I can't even imagine.

June 15, 201610 yr I hate to sound rude but if they were in restricted areas it was a terrible mistake. This is so awful I can't even wrap my mind around it. I've been around a lot of alligators at HHI. They aren't particularly sneaky or hidden. It is pretty much well known where they are and there are generally warning signs, fences, etc. Really sad if this family chose to ignore the warnings.

June 15, 201610 yr There are simply no words other than utter ridiculousness....how on Gods good earth does a family allow their child to be close enough to a body of water with gators in it to be taken down and devoured? A horrific tragedy that should have never occurred in the first place...
