How do people know that it didn't matter? I believe things could have totally different if Green played? Green being out may have been the psychological boost that the Cavs needed, not to mention the rim protector and defender that the Warriors needed.:idunno:

I am of the opinion the fix was in once Believeland was made, but that is just me. The world works in mysterious ways at times. With that said, while it would have been great to close out things last night, something more poetic about the series ending in Cleveland, if that were to happen.

It made the double teams on Curry much more effective, Green usually receives that pass and initiates the offense in a 4 on 3 situation, which leads to a lot of easy baskets. They really didn't have anyone to do that last night.

If you believe in the butterfly effect,everything in last nights game could have changed. Who knows, Green may have accidentally kicked Irving in the groin early in the game, therefore nullifying his impact.

Green being out tonight had no effect with how well Irving and James played. No doubt that Cleveland showed they are equally, if not more dangerous than Golden State if they play like they are capable.

 

I would say that this being the first game the NBA finals ever had 2 40 point scorers on the same team is not playing as they are capable. It was playing better than they are capable. The Cavs got killed in the media in game 4 for James and Irving taking all the shots. They did it again this game but this time they made shots at an insane rate. Plus James consistently hitting jumpers is not normal. So if both teams are at full strength and both play to their full potential then the Warriors are still the more dangerous team and this season proved that.

Cavs scored a lot of points at the rim. Green helps guard the rim. Again, missing him influenced the outcome.

I am not a big conspiracy guy but I firmly believe that if GS was down 3-1 instead of up 3-1, Green would have played game 5. What he did in the OKC series was worse IMO and he was not suspended then...because they were not up in the series at the time. That is how I see it so I actually think what Donaghy said has some validity to it.
