May 26, 201610 yr Love it, love Disturbed. They come in concert with Breaking Benjamin in July and I will be there for sure.
May 26, 201610 yr I like the first half, it became too "metal" in the second half. such thing...:ylsuper:
May 26, 201610 yr First heard this while watching the show "The Leftovers" commented on how much I like it! 2 thumbs up!
May 27, 201610 yr A friend of mine tried to push this Disturbed version on me (its official video) about a month ago as even better than the original. I did all that I could to bite my tongue not to say "Dude, you can't be serious". For starters all accolades must be awarded to Paul Simon for having written the song, and S & G for beautifully arranging and performing it. Beyond that anyone covering it can either do so with respectful homage to the original, or cheapen it with over the top unnecessary growls as is displayed here by David Draiman of Disturbed. Nothing annoys me more than for covers to be given the stoner rock treatment. It's the very reason I had to quit listening to Cincy's rock station WEBN that years ago was a cutting edge album oriented rock station in it inception only to evolve into having that constant stoner rock sheen with every artist that it pushes. So much that a few years ago it completely lost sight of how nice it was to present its fireworks display with eclectic sounds that could be enjoyed by all, and soundtracked the entire event with this annoying stoner rock sheen. This also reminds me how I recently was in Kroger shopping and through the pipes I heard Shinedown's version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man" and as it carried on I wanted so bad to scream out loud "Please dude, SHUT UP!!!". They took a really great song and made it all demented completely losing the meaning of the song in the process. Both Shinedown and Disturbed have impressive singers with strong voices, but neither should bother to cover great classic songs if their version of it only stands to lose its meaning all for the sake of trying to be tough. Tells me that even they had no clue what they were singing about and were just selling out to the indiscriminate taste of their fans. Sure the familiarity of both songs strengthens their appeal, but neither do the originals any justice or pay them the respect they deserve. They both begin in likable fashion harkening that familiarity only then to give way to the completely ridiculous and annoying.

May 27, 201610 yr Love it, love Disturbed. They come in concert with Breaking Benjamin in July and I will be there for sure. They had a 3 pack set of concerts for $50 we picked up: Slipknot/Marilyn Manson, Disturbed/BB, Korn/Rob Zombie. Can't wait to see Disturbed and BB.
May 27, 201610 yr I absolutely love this rendition. They took a classic and made a power ballad out of it. The entire album, Immortalized, is fantastic. I got hooked Disturbed the first time I heard Prayer. I went out and bought Believe, now I have all of them. David Draiman has an amazing voice and range. Disturbed was here with Shinedown, and Chevelle for 98Rockfest on April 29th and I had to miss it. :(
May 27, 201610 yr I really like Disturbed. Not a fan of this song. I'll probably get flamed for this, but Simon & Garfunkel do nothing for me.
