May 19, 201610 yr 2nd poll I've heard of today with Trump in the lead. I look for Clinton to get desperate and beg Bernie to join the ticket with her.
May 20, 201610 yr CBS poll has HRC up 3, but the trend is Trump closing. RealClearPolitics - Election 2
May 20, 201610 yr It's still way to early but most polls re trending in Trump's favor. The blow out some predicted on here doesn't seem likely. The Sanders voters not liking Hillary is real.
May 20, 201610 yr When five thirty eight comes out with an Electoral College poll, I'll listen seriously.
May 20, 201610 yr When five thirty eight comes out with an Electoral College poll, I'll listen seriously. Exactly. Gore won the popular vote.
May 20, 201610 yr HRC is at the point where she almost has to put Sanders on the ticket. Sanders only became a DEM to run for POTUS and has NO DEM loyalty what so ever. He is 74 years old, his political career is over. He has NOTHING stopping him from going SCORCHED EARTH at the convention.
May 20, 201610 yr BTW, hearing rumblings of voter fraud in KY. Can't wait for the reaction from the Sanders camp!
May 20, 201610 yr I don't think polls this early matter in the whole scheme of things, but it is definitely not showing what the HRC voters were crowing about. The American people have seen her act for 30 years and have never really liked it. She is so scripted and stiff and cold. Nothing she says or does ever looks unrehearsed. Her smiles, no matter the context, look forced and clownish. She likely practices how she will say hello, and which regional dialect/accent she will use depending on her anticipated audience.

I know it's shallow, but this to me is HRC's biggest problem, especially as the focus will be all on her. While I think "clownish" is a bit harsh, she is so stiff, and rehearsed, and at least to me, she doesn't come across as genuine. Even the way she dresses just seems so unnatural! Buttoned up and stiff. And her shrill voice, especially when she tries to speak for emphasis, is quite frankly hard to listen to. I think people will grow tired of seeing her over the course of the election season. Her image, not her politics is what is going to hurt her, especially against someone like Trump who has charisma and people like to listen to, whether they like him or not.

May 20, 201610 yr I'm pretty sure that during the time of the primaries when candidate Obama was leading over HRC that many HRC voters said they would NOT vote for Obama. Time, though, seemed to change their mind as there was not a big run of HRC voters voting for the opposition. We could be experiencing this a bit here. Its' really ugly between the two groups. Easy to say now they won't vote for HRC because in their minds she is still the enemy. If nothing else this is a great study of psychology.

Big difference here is Bernie is done if he loses and has no real consequences if he decides to go scorched earth at the convention. He is a life long independent, he has no loyalty to the dems. IMO, HRC has to put him on the ticket, or risk seeing him go on a 3rd party run.
