Something you've accomplished that was very difficult, but well worth it

Randy, I'd have to say going from not being able to run to the end of my road without being out of breath to being able to run a 6.6 min mile. Took a lot of pounding the pavement but it helped me lose 40 pounds , 40 points off my cholesterol, and 40 points off my systolic bp.

That's awesome SF! :thumb:

Raising kids!!! I started at a very young age of 22 and was still in college. My greatest accomplishment and I'm still doing it with a 9 yr old daughter and 15 yr old stepson. It was a struggle I'm not gonna lie but it takes a village and family/friends were pivotal in helping me through.

Got my kids through 12 years of Catholic school.

Does passing a kidney stone count?

This is one of my biggest fears in life...

Amen sister! For myself . . . 3 kids, 13 years (including K) = 39 years of payments. Wrapped up last year.

Now, gotta work on RP's debt thing.

I forgot about kindergarten, so 2 kids, 13 years each for me.

My 2nd accomplishment is buying a house. Never thought that would be an option for me. But it's amazing what not having tuition payments does to the savings account and house-buying power. So, a decade of recovery from 15 years of tuition payments, I finally have a house of my very own. :D

I hope to be debt free before I get to retirement age. For the most part, I think I can accomplish that, with maybe the exception of my mortgage. But I deliberately bought way less house than I could have afforded, electing to buy the house I could afford if I had to live on minimum wage. So, at least I should still be able to get by without too much struggle in my "golden years". :D

Word. I did that 3 times plus college.

I'm looking at some potential goals to strive for right now. So far, graduating college and completing the MBA program in one calendar year has been my favorite accomplishment.

Getting through a 20 year law enforcement career without being injured and without ever seriously injuring anyone else.

For me, luck and great training kept me safe but I am more proud of not seriously (or even moderately) injuring anyone else.

I've been in Information Technology for 35 years. I am 55 years old. Instead of doing the "safe thing" and coasting for a few more years until retirement, I volunteered to learn a new technology framework and I just received my certification to go in that direction in an official capacity. Kind of scary, but the juices are flowing more than they have in a few years.

Staying married for 29 years.
