Wasn't he given a tryout this past season with the Patriots and didn't he make it to the final cuts?

 

He had a shot with the Pats the year after he was let go from the Jets. This past season the Eagles brought him to camp. 4 different teams in the last 4 years. Same end results.

Read up on Brenda Warner before you try to make her look bad. If you respect and like Tebow for his Christian values, you cannot dismiss Mrs Warner. She has walked the walk and experienced more adversity in her life than Tebow.

Yes, I do. However, like I said I'm not anything close to a coach. I just didn't think he was treated fairly. Several times at halftime on different channels or weekday radio and television, snide remarks and snickers were made. Maybe that is how it's always been and I just don't understand that is how it works. So now at least, he is having a successful career and also his foundation and personal life. I wish him the best.

When and by whom . Tebow has had many chances to make it in the NFL .He was not cut because he was a Christian . He is just not a pro quality quarteback at this time. There are many examples of opposing players congregating after a game and kneeling in prayer together . Why haven't they been blackballed from the NFL . That arguent is specious .

She may very well be a nice lady, wonderful mother and devoted wife, but the interview in Sports Illustrated said the owners had not been happy about her visit with them. I never disparaged her person, I just said she was his main fan and career motivator. I don't remember the date for the article, but it was before his Super Bowl victory and MVP award. Yes, she has struggled with a tough hand dealt to her and she reacts like a mother tiger and questioned whether the Rams owners valued him like they should, I'm a strong woman also and I can appreciate her championing her husband. I wasn't the one the asked you about Kurt Warner. I only commented because you seemed to go out of the way to say something negative about Warner's wife, when you just as easily could have pointed out the many good things she represents and has done throughout her life. You say you didn't disparage her, but calling her a "career pushing wife" isn't exactly singing her praises. I'm not even sure why you had to bring her up, since the discussion was about Warner, how open he is with his faith and his quarterbacking ability compared to Tebow. And since you did mention her, she seems to be a person, that by all accounts seems to be someone who would hold and represent the same values and beliefs that Tebow has, so I guess I just don't understand why you chose to highlight something negative about her.

His faith didn't hurt him or get him extra chances. He was given multiple chances because of his college success and athletic skills. He was a great college QB and a poor NFL QB. It's not an unusual story.

I don't know. I don't find Bernie to be any more honest than his opponents on the campaign. Bernie is a career politician. He knows the game. Tebow is the kind of guy that I could see myself voting for simply because I would believe every word he says. Time would tell if politics corrupts him like it has everyone else but early on I would believe his words and his intentions. I can't say that same thing about any current politician.

I hope his ESPN SEC job gives him more access to display his Christian Conservative views. Never in all my years of watching football have I ever witnessed anyone who was black balled from the NFL like him. This guy, who by the way won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore and also National Championship for the Gators, had to be someone the NFL could help perfect his mechanics. I would vote for this guy in a heartbeat, but I don't think it's for him.

 

Vince Young won the Heisman and National Championship for Texas and didn't last long.

I could give more examples but they would all point to the same conclusion, some outstanding college football players' games do not seque well into the NFL. Tebow was one of them. Great guy, great work ethic but just couldn't adapt.

 

You have to admit, you are just making excuses for him to portray him as a Christian Myrtar. Saying all this, I would seriously consider voting for him.

Well, other than this: I dare anybody who believes Tebow got drummed out of the NFL because of his up-front Evangelical Christianity to explain how Jon Kitna lasted 16 years in the NFL. I ain't never seen Tebow rock a Cross hat the way Kitna did every single postgame interview.

True story. Son once sat with Kitna and his family on a flight from Cincy to Seattle and would up playing a game of Scrabble with him. At the time, son was a graduate student in Modernist English at the University of Washington. As son told me later, the Scrabble game was not a fair fight.

Kitna ever beat the Steelers in a playoff game ?
