Amen. He does a good job for SEC-ESPN. He's the reason I would rather watch his show.

To me becoming a politician is selling your soul to the devil ,no matter how many good works he does .

I hope his ESPN SEC job gives him more access to display his Christian Conservative views. Never in all my years of watching football have I ever witnessed anyone who was black balled from the NFL like him. This guy, who by the way won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore and also National Championship for the Gators, had to be someone the NFL could help perfect his mechanics. I would vote for this guy in a heartbeat, but I don't think it's for him.

That's just not true. So he is conservative and I don't agree with some of his views. Doesn't mean I don't respect him and believe he is doing great things for people. He has an extremely popular arena of followers who happen to be mostly Southern Baptist type Christians and he has taken the opportunity to be a positive ambassador. He appears to be an extremely humble, honest man.

 

Doesn't mean I have to support his beliefs. I also think he would be a weak politician because he could not separate church and state IMO. Religion has no place in government.

He's a great guy and role model. No doubt. But he didn't get blackballed from the NFL. He's not out of the NFL because of who he is or what he believes in. He's not in the NFL because he's not a great player in the NFL. Just look at his stats. If it were easy to teach mechanics and decision making, there wouldn't be so many failed QB's. He got more chances than quite a few guys who were more talented, BECAUSE of who and how popular he was. Without his beliefs, he wouldn't have been nearly as popular, and no one would be talking about him being blackballed out of the league. He's not the first and won't be the last college star to not make it in the NFL. And none of that means he was a bad college player.

 

As far as how he'd do politically?? Who knows. He's still awfully young. And mixing religion and government can lead to problems.

Several times at halftime on different channels or weekday radio and television, snide remarks and snickers were made. Maybe that is how it's always been and I just don't understand that is how it works. So now at least, he is having a successful career and also his foundation and personal life. I wish him the best.

Seriously? The dude got more chances in the NFL for someone with his skill level more than any mediocre quarterback I have ever seen. I think he'll make a great politician because I think he has the ability to win people over with his sincerity but people have to get off this whole he-was-blackballed-from-the-NFL-because-of-his-faith movement. Every Sunday football players openly praise God when they score and during interviews. Regardless of what people want to believe Tebow is not the first Christian to play in the NFL and openly speak on his faith. You ever heard of Kurt Warner?

Yeah, those comments are because he won't be playing on Sundays because he sucks at pro football. Surely you recognize sarcasm and wit when people are discussing Tebow. We all know the good that he does, has done and will continue to do.

 

We may never seen a better public figure than Tebow but he still sucks at pro football. I think he would be a great politician and I hope he does it. Politics could use a man like him and I'd love to see him bring some purity into politics. I think he could be the one to do it.

Absolutely. Heck there are plenty of Heisman winners that never made an NFL roster. And if teams are willing to roster guys who get in trouble with the law, have used drugs in the past, or smacked a girlfriend around because they can play, there's no way they wouldn't roster a Christian athlete.

Great role model and young man. My parents started telling me about him when he was a high-schooler in Florida. I wish him well.

 

But to suggest that he was persecuted in/blackballed from the league because of his Christianity is ludicrous. If anything, he got the extra chance.

Yes, I've heard of Kurt Warner and his career pushing wife. Remember when SHE went to talk to the owners in St. Louis. And everyone knows Tebow is not the first Christian to play pros.
