Bathroom Wars: Whose side you got?

Featured Replies

This has been my whole point. How to you define transgender ? Legally by this ruling how can you keep any boy from the girls locker room? Young boys are pervs , I was one I should know.

What is the legal standard to define a transgender person. , how can you legally define ones mental self identity.

Those on the Left don't care about any of this. As long as we don't ever offend anyone, unless they are conservative or Christian, everything will be OK.

How true is that statement. Damn the consequences as long as we don't offend the perps.

All the department of education and Obama did today was open a can of worms for schools officials. On Monday there will be a bunch of HS boys walking into the girls bathroom... With the digital age the way it is... It's going to suck being a principal.

Let's read and understand the directive before we make assumptions. Boys will not just be allowed to go into the girls bathrooms and locker rooms (and vice versa) under this new direction.

The first requirement is that parents must submit a a gender identity for the student that “differs from previous representations or records in order for a student to be able to use a different restroom than what is listed on the students records. Without this, no student will just be allowed to enter the "wrong" restroom and claim it's their "right". So unless the parents of these "pervy teenage boys" are on board with them using the girls restroom, and submit the proper paperwork, any boy who does so, is subject to discipline, just like they would be in the past.

Second, schools are permitted (and likely will) to provide alternative, more private options for those who want more privacy, such as separate facilities, privacy curtains, or allowing them to change in stalls.

And many schools already have these policies in place, and have had them in place for some time, and have had no issues.

How horrible.

How horrible.

It is when you threaten to sue or withhold funds from the school. Especially since no law has been passed in regards to this. More Executive Branch overreach.

This is basically political blackmail. For the record, I would be against this if was a Repub doing it. I was 100% against No Child Left Behind. Forcing school districts to do something that should be left up to the states.

So if a male teacher submits to the office he is a transgender will he be allowed to also go to the girls bathroom. He won't need a parent note.

Can't wait to read where a male teacher is caught taking pict of girls in girls bathroom while claiming he is a transgender.

Also before you are allowed to use restroom as a transgender you should have to have had a sex change.

Bruce or Katlyn Jenner, whatever it is should have to have his penis took off and have a nice little vagina put in so he will be complete.

Do teachers use the student bathrooms?? Don't most schools have teachers lounges with at least semi private bathrooms now? And do You think a teacher would really use the 5 minutes or so they have between classes to stroll into a busy bathroom and take pics? And if it were to happen, claiming that you have the right to be in the bathroom doesn't absolve you of committing a crime while in there.

Of course not because teachers never, ever do anything inappropriate with students. Your responses crack me up. You would defend the devil in order to not offend him. There is never anything wrong with anything. Those type of people are called enablers. Sit by and defend the bad guys while others will try to do right. Why are we worried about the .003% that gets their feelings hurt when there are so many more people against it. If we are trying not to offend people you are on the wrong side of the numbers game.

No one is defending bad guys because the bad guys you keep referring to are complytely made up.

Head in the sand response. Oblivious to the world outside of the six inches around your ears. You can say it a million times, won't make it right or true.

So you're ok with having a potential sex offender as a teacher as long as he/she stays out of the the wrong bathroom. Of course he could absolutely enter the correct bathroom and do the same thing, but again, we're not worried about protecting our sons. The teacher/sex offender is not using bathrooms in the handful of minutes between classes to do their dirty work.

I'm not trying to defend sex offenders. Haven't ever said it's ok, or called for one to not be punished. Not once. Please show me a post where I defend a sex offender and their actions. And I haven't insulted anybody, or questioned any one else's reputation, parenting skills, or persona. I'm only questioning the hysteria and fear mongering, and crazy scenarios that people are creating to support their position.

Wife has an uncle who got out of prison after serving 15 years for raping his daughter repeatedly for 10 years. Said he didn't do it. So its ok if he babysits your daughters right? How about if he just wants to use the womens bathroom, no harm there right. Can't swuash his right to rape and pillage. We must be concerned about offending him. This really has nothing to do with transgenders but all about the reason there are seperate bathrooms now and it needs to stay that way. People with malicious intent will use any means to get to vunerable victims. Why help them do so?

The only fear I monger is that in the eyes of the lord I was not strong enough to stand to protect the weak and vunerable, I fear monger that I never give in to the lunacy .. Ever.

You have no idea, and I don't appreciate your characterization of me. I hope you can realize though that it is entirely possible to disagree about something without making things up. This entire issue reminds me of the fear mongering urban legends we have about people giving out drugs to trick or treaters or hiding AIDS infected needles. Sure it's possible, but since we don't have literally any evidence at all, I'll lean on the side of it not being a problem.

Since I'm not of the opinion that we need to fix a problem that doesn't exist, you know what does concern me, the suicide rates of individuals trying to make it through their lives. I'd rather support a position that makes them feel a little more comfortable. You know what the ironic thing is? We haven't heard any uproar about women transitioning and using men's rooms with little boys where there are, you know, actual urinals. In women's restrooms, as far as I know there are only stalls. Heaven forbid a girl wash hands next to a transgender woman.
