Bathroom Wars: Whose side you got?

Featured Replies

Two your second point it's basically agreed upon its a mental disorder in the psychology field. Also a study done at Vanderbilt found 80% of children who said they were Transgender spontaneously changed their mind.

Actually the APA (American Psychiatry Association) as of 2012, no longer lists transgenderism as a mental disorder.

I can't find any reference to the Vanderbilt Study you refer to, but it sounds an awful lot like the study done by controversial Johns Hopkins psychiatrist Paul Mchugh. Very controversial guy, who also still believes being gay is a choice and can be treated. That particular study is far from "accepted", and Mchugh's opinion is generally an outlier among modern psychiatrists.

Every black person I know, including myself spoke before we knew the facts. All we were being told was unarmed black male shot dead by the police. That's all that we all knew. Obama spoke on it when he didn't have to. He said what a large percentage of black people were saying at that time. And this was AFTER the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman tragedy. And what did Obama do? He sent the justice department to investigate and they found the shooting to be justified and nothing further happened. Then Obama spoke out against attacks against the police but as you say/paraphrase let's continue to ignore facts that don't support our agendas.

So again, if acting like a regular black dude in that particular moment when he spoke out against Mike Brown's death is divisive then so be it. Like I said before, imagine if he was trying to be divisive on purpose like Louis Farrakhan or the leaders of the New Black Panther Party or the member of BLM who refused to meet with Obama because he had been critical of them before he invited him to the White House to talk. The race war would have began already. By all means though, continue to believe he was being divisive on purpose. I don't know what it is like to be a white man and you don't know what it is like to be a black man.

The problem is he is the POTUS. He is held to a higher standard. We expect our leader to wait until all the facts come out before he fans the flames.

He cherry picked what he wanted the Justice Dept. to investigate. Why not investigate all police involved shootings?

You are correct. We don't know what it is like to be a person of a different race. That doesn't make either of us the bad guy.

The president of the United States isn't a "regular"black dude. He is the president . Just like the presidents before him weren't "regular" white guys. If you want the office to be held to higher standard then you hold yourself to that standard.

This is a statement from someone who has no idea what it is like to be a black person in a position of power. That black person will always be held to a different standard than a white person because they are held to an entirely different standard by black people from black people and by white people and the standard that they apply. Two different races are applying two different sets of standards for one black person. A lot of White people can't comprehend the struggle that a black person in power has and more often than not a lot of whites people choose to not even want to try to comprehend what it is liked for that black person trying to lead as well as maintain status quo to both of those different standards.

In some circles this is called white privelige.

Of course it doesn't but saying my explanations are rhetoric and "you are better than that" when I am giving you the mindset of a regular black man in 2016 and a POTUS trying to live up to two different standards(see post 408) is where the standoff begins.

Nah. I remember that one all too well. He acted like a regular black dude in America. I forget how divisive that can be sometimes. Forgive me.

And there's the issue with many.

Best I can remember, his predecessor was widely praised for being a regular white guy.

As a black man he had no choice but to speak on it. Had he waited for all of the facts to come out the black community would have already drawn and quartered him by the time the facts came out. Unfair but that is the reality of being a black man in a powerful position.

Because that one had a Rodney King feel to it and black people wanted answers immediately.

Kind of guy you can have a beer with.....

Does anyone know, personally, a 'transgender' person?

Does anyone know, personally, a trangender is biologically a woman but identifies as a man?

Are most 'transgenders', if not the vast majority, of this very small minority males 'identifying' as females?

I have known 2 guys that were transgender.

Unless you personally knew them you would not know they weren't females by looking at them. They both thought of themselves as females.

No one would think anything if either of them walked in the women's restroom.

I know quite a few lesbians, but I haven't known any women that thought of themselves as male.

Black people agree and disagree. If he was the most corrupt president of your lifetime then blacks would be an unstoppable force in the world right now. Now that I think about it more he has failed black people Horribly. He could have at least gave me my 40 acres and mule. :lol2:

I honestly don't look at anything as a black / white issue. A lot of people, even some that I have known for years "think" that I am a republican bc of my disgust with the current president along with Al Gore, Hillary Clinton but I am not republican at all. I don't think that I have ever voted a straight GOP or Dem. ticket in my life. I try to look at whoever I believe is the best "person, human being" amoung the candidates bc frankly I have ever agreed with absolutely everything any one president has or hasn't accomplished.

I do understand your comment about him failing the blacks, I agree along with imo he's failed all of America, JMO. Anyway ...I do understand and respect your opinion, comments :thumb:
