How Each Candidates Tax Plan Affects You

Sanders wants more of your money in government hands. Doesn't shock me.

I'm not sure I would believe any of the candidates tax plans at this point.

With Bernie's socialist ideas, it only makes sense for taxes to rise.

Using that calculator, Hillary is a wash, the Republicans mean a nice tax break and Sanders tax plan would cause a dramatic effect on BGP.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that Hillary would be a wash for me. The swing between Trump/Cruz and Bernie just made me shake my head. Especially with so many that post on FB how much Bernie Sanders is for the middle class.

I like a lot of what Bernie has to say but based on this one factor alone there is zero chance of me ever supporting Bernie Sanders or anyone like him.

Bernie's :

His plan would raise federal revenues by an estimated $15.3 trillion over the next decade. He would raise taxes for almost all households, but most increases would be for wealthier households; tax increases would be small for lower- and middle-income households. Additional revenues would pay for health care, education, and other programs, so households would pay less than what they currently pay for those services.

I'll gladly a few thousand more a year to pay for education, health care, etc... Just me though. I'd say most middle-incomers probably come out better in the end with Bern with lower cost for services.

Sanders is for the little guy? Let's see...

Family of 3 making $15,000 pays an additional $1,460 in taxes

Family of 3 making $20,000 pays an additional $2,550 in taxes

Family of 3 making $30,000 pays an additional $3,380 in takes

Family of 3 making $40,000 pays an additional $4,830 in taxes

Family of 3 making $50,000 pays an additional $6,820 in taxes

Let's look at some single parent families...

Single Mom with 2 kids making $20,000 pays an additional $3,120 in taxes

Single Mom with 2 kids making $30,000 pays an additional $4,260 in taxes

Single Mom with 2 kids making $40,000 pays an additional $5,520 in taxes

Single Mom with 2 kids making $50,000 pays an additional $5,680 in taxes

Divide those extra taxes over 12 months and you see that a lot of families living check to check will have any where from $200 to close to $600 less to pay monthly bills. I know a lot of people that WOULD NOT consider that, "being for the little guy."

Tax plan is the primary reason I support Hillary. It's a push.

Cruz, Bernie, and Trump plans are hard to swallow. Cuts are too high and will swell the deficit or there are tax increases hurting the lower classes.

I'm with SF, would gladly pay more in taxes to get universal healthcare and college tuition. I already have these things but think they would be good for the country. Glad to make the sacrifice.

In truth though, Bernie won't get any of that stuff done. None of the candidates will get anything done. Nothing. Not a single thing. Congress is broken broken broken beyond repair. Country is divided hopelessly.

So I support Bernie because he is the only decent human being among the bunch. Cruz and Trump and HRC are horrible people.

My two cents.

I think the problem is that a lot of folks don't know whether or not they're middle class or not.

There are plenty of countries where you can pay those much higher taxes and get all of the free stuff you crave.

Maybe you can afford an extra $3-10,000 in taxes each year...I'd be willing to bet that for most families it would be a little tougher than it would be for you.

I think Bernie has the diagnosis but I'm not sure I like his remedy.

The other thing is Cruz and Trump claim they'll balance the budget on top of these tax cuts, which would be getting into the area of the impossible and would at least make a lot of people who would otherwise enjoy a tax cut angry.
