How Each Candidates Tax Plan Affects You

If this surprises anyone, they haven't been paying attention. Good read, though.

There are plenty of countries where you can pay those much higher taxes and get all of the free stuff you crave.

Maybe you can afford an extra $3-10,000 in taxes each year...I'd be willing to bet that for most families it would be a little tougher than it would be for you.

Thanks for making the not-so-subtle hint that I should move to a different country, because, what, I don't agree with you? I love my country, and will continue to advocate for policies that I think would be good for us all. I don't appreciate the implication that I should move because of my views. You should apologize.

Would be an extra $15K under Bernie.

Think I'll pass on that one. They get enough from me already. Guess a kidney would be next.

I am NOT willing to pay any more in tax, period. Not for healthcare, not for education, not for any of the pie in the sky bull crap the Bern wants to promised his mindless puppet followers. He gets the nomination its a guaranteed Rep win. Just through these numbers in an add and run it on a loop every hour and the rep candidate wouldn't have to leave the house the entire campaign. Bernie is a freaking idiot.

I think the problem is that a lot of folks don't know whether or not they're middle class or not.

And the fact that people think that since they don't make $250,000 a year, they won't have an increase in taxes. They don't understand that while Bernie says he wont raise their income tax, he will be putting other taxes in place, I have seen up to an additional 8% tax, as well as removing income tax deductions.

Basically, people just paying attention to a fancy meme and not really knowing the truth.

By all means live where ever you like. My point was there are already plenty of places that tax their people like you are wanting. If you feel so strongly that is the way to go maybe you could look at those countries and what thier citizens think of paying 50% or in some cases more in taxes. But most middle and lower class families can't afford the unfulfilled promises of socialism. Especially looking at the Bernie plan.

I think Bernie has the diagnosis but I'm not sure I like his remedy.

The other thing is Cruz and Trump claim they'll balance the budget on top of these tax cuts, which would be getting into the area of the impossible and would at least make a lot of people who would otherwise enjoy a tax cut angry.

Doesn't economics show that lower tax rates usually promote a stronger economy that actually produces more tax revenue overall...seems I remember that from economics classes at EKU.

So what you are saying is you prefer policies from countries that are less successful than the United States and want to implement policies that are the exact opposite of what put this country on top.

What diagnosis does he have correct ? Also while I agree a tax cut without a cut in spending is wrong. If the plan calls for both then that is the best plan in my mind with shape and size present of this government.

There is always an equilibrium based 9n the spending side. So spending cuts would also be needed based on the bloated government. The problem is the left who paints their party the party of science ignores the science of economics. I always here trickle down is a myth. It's almost hysterical if not sad to ignore the science behind allowing the most money available in private hands.

The government by its nature can never spend or distribute money as efficiently as it can be spent or distributed in private hands. This isn't an opinion it's simple economic fact.

Pretty much.

[/i]I'll gladly a few thousand more a year to pay for education, health care, etc... Just me though. I'd say most middle-incomers probably come out better in the end with Bern with lower cost for services.

I paid for my own education. I'm paying for my Oldest as well ( youngest earned his own). I also pay for a large part of my Heath care

Why should I have to pay for others in addition to mine and my dependants? Dad had no college, the house I grew up in just sold for 67,000. Pay your own way. I'm tired of people telling me who I have to support. I give to charities. The ones I choose, not the one some clown decided I need to pay for. People need to take ownership of their own lives.

Well said

Some folks clearly keep their glass at least half full....

Bernie's :

His plan would raise federal revenues by an estimated $15.3 trillion over the next decade. He would raise taxes for almost all households, but most increases would be for wealthier households; tax increases would be small for lower- and middle-income households. Additional revenues would pay for health care, education, and other programs, so households would pay less than what they currently pay for those services.

Give the government more money so they can screw up education even worse? Pay more so people that don't work or don't have a job in a career type field can have health insurance while mine continues to get worse each year? Certainly you're joking.
