Have 2 in my front year...decent sized now, wish I has dug them up when I first moved in 12 years ago and they were small. I don't like them. Plus the fact that they stink and one of them is right in front of my front living room window. When the wind blows just right in the spring time with the windows open, smells like a porn set working overtime.:puke:

His name does sound like a porn name.

I feel icky.....

My parents had a Bradford Pear that they planted the year I was born (1983). In 1998, when we had our hailstorm here in Bowling Green, said tree broke right onto my father's car.

Hmmmmm sounds like Mr. Cat better check on Mrs. Cat to see about sets. LOL

Never realized they were an invasive species.

Never realized they were an invasive species.

I didn't think so either. However with the unbelievable amount that are blooming, I didn't realize how prevalent they were. I know the Aristocrat pear was bred to be much hardier, withstand wind and they grow well in our heavy clay soil. But wow, they are almost taking over and choking out the native species.

Trash trees.

Saw (unofficial count) eleventy billion of them yesterday driving from Maysville to Eastgate. Eleventy-three billion on the way back.

We had one that split in half and we had to cut it down. That was a royal pain and a lot of work. I will never plant one again.

If you are on Oakbrook Drive in Florence, you can see several that have split and several that are about to split with the next high wind forecast.

As pretty as they are. I'm hoping they take over behind my back yard and in a hurry. There must be 100 ash trees between me and the road behind my house that are all firewood. I plan on spending a few bucks on some fruit trees closer to the house.

They do smell like Nick Manning's vacation house.

I've noticed that they are EVERYwhere right now. I didn't realize there were so many but I've been paying attention and they are all over the place.

Great....thanks gang! Now every time I see a bradford pear I'm having thoughts of vaginal hygiene and porn.

:lol2:

@BigVMan23 - our work here is done.

Took a while, but we finally conquered...again.:thumb:

A little part of me hopes that a few readers did a google search for Nick Manning. If so, I feel accomplished.
