The NKY Bandits are really good in about every division.

 

I watched the Ft Thomas White dismantle the NKY Bandits in the Senior Div 2 weeks ago I'm thinking the score was around 31-0.....

 

FT Thomas White is the same team that lost to South Kenton 18-16 the week before that. Right? What were you saying about the NKY Bandits at all levels again? Maybe the Bandits were pretty solid in years past at all levels but they are struggling a little this year at the Senior Level.

The Bandits have arguably the best team in every division other than the Senior division.

Great competitive, hard hitting game tonight between Ft. Thomas 8th grade white team and CC Red Devils at HHS. Beautiful night for football and the young athletes played a great game. It came down to last series for Fort Thomas - down one point - they drove the length of the field behind Hergott's beautiful passes and solid WR catches and Hergott scored running it in from 9 yard line with 15 seconds left in game to put the Fort up 18 to 13 for the final score. (not certain final score). Entertaining game with lotsa speedy athletes on the field...great night of football. Congrats to both teams.

Now that both the white and blue teams have beaten the ft Thomas south team CCRD. Maybe it's time that all the parents who have taken there kids out of the ftjrfl because we don't play to win we are not competitive we have playing time requirements were EVERY kid is coached not just the top 15. Or maybe it's for the super bowl ring they all wear in high school. Wait a minute not true cause the boys who go on to HHS get to wear state rings.

So here goes to any and all Ft Thomas players who have left for any reason and are ready to come back home we are ready with open arms to welcome you back to the league that lays the foundation for HHS football!!!

You are missing the point. Had the RD held on for the win your response would have never had anything about being a down this year.

I thought the game was well played by both teams. Very few penalties. The kid who played Qb for the RD did very nice job throwing the ball around to open receivers.

If they end up coming back and playing for Highlands anyway - why does it matter who they play youth football for?

Do you remember when the RD crushed the ft Thomas team last year? I'm sorry but no one has crushed anyone this year. Both games have been close. Plus with Ft. Thomas teams only having 8th graders and no 7th graders is a slight advantage. There is a major growth spurt in boys from 7th to 8th grade.

Exactly South Kentons Senior team is mostly 7th graders and they already beat the Red devils and one Fort Thomas team.

The FT white and blue team are only 8th graders. CCRD has a lot of kids from ft Thomas on the team but it's made up of 7th and 8th graders.

There is no question, Campbell Cty has watered down their teams by having so many options. We're experiencing the same problems in Boone Cty. At one point we had 3 youth teams on 1 campus! Each team only had about 13-15 players. I don't see how having the Thunder, FT Thomas teams, Red Devils, and CC Youth makes any sense.

 

For what it's worth, the Union Raiders 8th Grade team is very weak. Other than a few talented kids, they really have nobody. They are getting beat by 30-40 pts a game. They were a 2 pt conversion away from tying one of the Ft Thomas teams. Sounds to me like a lot of the 8th grade teams are down.

More opportunities for kids to play instead of standing on the sidelines. With 40 player youth teams, they are a bunch of kids that get left out and never get a chance to develop.

I understand the logic, but with less overall kids playing football and WAY more teams, don't you think NKY has gone overboard? Too many parents are hellbent on making sure little Johnny gets playing time that we now have too many options. The teams are watered down and many can barely field full squads. I would say if you only have 13-15/team, then yes, it's too watered down. 20-25 is a good number. That provides competition for playing time but still allow for development and opportunity. Anything over that and too many kids are getting left out.
