Polar Bear escapes containment area at Cincinnati Zoo

Featured Replies

I guess we'll see now how cute and cuddly they really are!

That is a fear I have. I have stood at the Polar Bear exhibit many times as children stand up by the glass and a Polar Bear swims to where they are and dives down and looks out at the passersby. You know all that bear is thinking about is how to make that tiny creature his/her lunch. I have often wondered what would happen if one of them got out of their enclosure, where would you go?

Go hiking in bear country? Only if I'm packin' a hogleg in at least 44 mag. I think you should be able to open carry at the zoo. I suggest a .375 H&H Mag or .338 Win Mag.

j/k

We were at Louisville Zoo a few years ago and had to "shelter in place" I heard over a workers walkie talkie that they had a Big Cat missing. They had counted and were off 1.

Zoo tweeted out that the zoo is now reopen and all polar bears are contained and unharmed.

If you are on Twitter the bear is tweeting (@CincyPolarBear).

If you're ever at the zoo and an animal gets loose, don't fret. All you gotta do is be faster than the person to your right or left.

That Twitter account is hilarious :lol2:

Love these panic inducing headlines the news throws out there.

In that scenario, the number 1 is a VERY significant number.

Did you say "fatter" than the person next to you. That is exactly why I am worried. Dang predator will think he hit the mother load with me and will ignore easier, closer targets.

Too bad that there weren't any politicians at the zoo today.

Exactly. When we would go out running in the country dogs would run up on us. I always made sure I was faster than the slowest person of the group I was with.

Or be able to knock one of the others down. :taz:

I'd suggest a 45/70 My brother in law borrow mine to go Elk hunting and fishing in Alaska. He wanted it in case of a grizzly attack. It was his back up gun. I offered a .44 mag pistol but he was afraid it wasn't enough.

Anyone know if they are good eating?

Check Brooksville. I heard that is where the Polar Bears hang out.
