JOAT ... my pick for NCC bench player who has a chance to make an impact is Ludwig (sp?).

 

Besides Weyer, Hall is the starter who has to bring his A game tonight and not get rattled by the very aggressive, chippy CCH guards.

 

I've been waiting all year for him to have that breakout game. He has taken the 2nd most 3's on the team but only averages 1.2 made per game. His % is less than many others. He has played in every game this year.

If I'm NCC I'm spending my time thinking about how I get Ben Weyer scoring and not about shaking hands before the game.

I don't see NCC beating CovCath. I think CovCath is just too good. I don't expect that NCC will hit 10 threes again, but I think this is what they would need to have a chance. Otherwise, CCH by 10 to 12.

I was going to say the same thing......been waiting all season for him to "go off". If he finds his stroke watch out, I'm really pulling for him to breakout tonight.

If NCC posts Weyer all night they lose IMO. Ben's game has been and always will be the entire floor from 3 point line and in. Key players for me in this game are Hall and how he handles the pressure of a region final, the Anderson's if they can keep their cool and get a few of the Colonels rattled and maybe a kid that no one is even thinking about in Austin Neff. Thought he gave them a spark in period 3 yesterday with his hustle and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. Might be the wildcard that NCC needs to pull this thing off.

 

All I can say is that if I am NCC I do not shake hands before the game and set the tone right then and there that we are here to take this game and the regional title.

 

Also can someone tell that large man that sits in the endzone that you do not have a "mark" in basketball.

 

They've already used that one. Didn't really work out to well last year. I think that Weyer starting inside and moving out will really free him up. However, staying out of early foul trouble is the biggest thing. He was never able to find his mojo once he had to sit early last time.

Not that I remember. I remember Zack breaking the bow over his knee and a couple other things. I didn't get to see intros at this year's game, so I can't speak to that. As to Weyer, when he gives a look in the post, it forces adjustments (not to mention that the tallest player in CovCath's rotation tonight will be 6'3). He can't live down there, but the team runs well for the few possessions that he posts. Like I said after the regular season game, at this point, you do what it takes to win. CovCath can't dictate how the game will be played like they do every time. Give them different looks to think about while staying within your system. I don't see NewCath being very efficient with him playing at the mid point in the dribble drive only...not with the way that Ruthsatz can change the game from the bench.

 

Also, as to the refs, if they are going to call it tight out top, they need to call it tight as a player slides to the block or receives the ball at the free throw line as he releases from a screen. I don't get how a foul at 25 ft from the basket is not a foul at 12 ft.

2 teams with talented rosters, phenomenal coaching staffs, incredible wills to win, passion, fire, energy, determination, and heart.
