I'll go out on a limb and say Weyer will be ready for tonight. The last match up I heard he was really tight last game which kind of showed based on how little he scored. I've been lucky to be at the whole tournament this year and going by what I thought would happen, NCC has done a very nice job shooting. Also without the late hand check foul calls against Conner yesterday I don't believe that game ends that way. We could have seen a NCC vs Conner finals. One thing NCC should have learned last night is that you DON'T put CCH on the foul line, they just don't miss.

 

I really think CCH needs to watch out for Hall tonight. He has the capabilities to put up 20+ points without anyone really noticing him. Add another 15-18 points for Moeves and that brings me to my final.

I'm seeing the State Finals as being Christian County vs. the 11th Region Champs (Dunbar or Scott Co.) with the 11th Region taking the crown.

 

As tough as both CovCath and NewCath are I don't think either are in the same league as the top dogs of the 11th.

Fair enough on the strength of the 11th. I would have to say that overall the 11th is stronger but not by much. Plus, let's face it, you only have to play one of these teams and that team has to get by Mercer Co.....so, yes, a lot can happen.

 

Based on this year's regular season results, anything can happen.

I agree with you. CovCath or NewCath is good but neither one would beat Christian County. Christian Co has upper level talent over either 9th region teams.

 

While I agree that Christian County seems to have a never ending supply of athletic talent and has amassed an impressive 28-2 record, I have to pause when I look at their schedule. They will have played Hoptown and U. Heights like 5 times? Additionally, I have no idea how good the out of state teams are.

 

Why no King of the Bluegrass or any 6,7, or 11th teams on their schedule?

 

They might be great, but the schedule is not, so, I have to wait and see. Full disclosure I have not seen them play in person this year.

 

That matchup would not come to the finals anyway so if the 9th region representative (CCH or NCC) makes it that far I will be happy for the opportunity to play Christian County or the Golden State Warriors for the chance to win State.

If NCC decides to park Ben inside tonight it's imperative on the CCH perimeter players to make life hard on the NCC guards and eliminate easy dump offs to Ben. With only one post player available for CCH keeping AJ out of foul trouble is also imperative.

If NCC posts Weyer all night they lose IMO. Ben's game has been and always will be the entire floor from 3 point line and in. Key players for me in this game are Hall and how he handles the pressure of a region final, the Anderson's if they can keep their cool and get a few of the Colonels rattled and maybe a kid that no one is even thinking about in Austin Neff. Thought he gave them a spark in period 3 yesterday with his hustle and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. Might be the wildcard that NCC needs to pull this thing off.

 

All I can say is that if I am NCC I do not shake hands before the game and set the tone right then and there that we are here to take this game and the regional title.

Based on last game that is a given. Their won't be any hand shakes or picking up of the other team's players off the ground. If NCC plays this correct, they turn the CCH floor talk from last game into motivation and baskets this game.
