So, I just sat in a Burger King drive thru for 20 minutes...

Featured Replies

...ordered breakfast, had about 4 cars in front of me. The car in front of me was at the window for a good 5-6 minutes. I had the notion to drive off, but being a good guy I didn't do it as it would mess up there order and the food might go to waste. So I finally pull up to the window, girl looks at me with a rather ticked off look like I had just insulted her somehow, waving her hands all around and says "just go, just keep going we can't take any money we are shutting down"! WHAT! Oh I was freaking fit to be tied!

So, I called their corporate office soon as I got in the office...they don't open till 9:00am, calling back as soon as they open, and they are about to get an ear full out of me. And that phone call better end with me getting quite a bit of free food or BK will be off my list.

You shouldn't be eating that crap anyway! Consider it a blessing.

Well, your first mistake was going to a Burger King. Horrendous food, worse service.

They should have given away free food to those that orders placed if something happened and they couldn't take money.

Agreed, worst FF breakfast.

That was my first thought.

People earning minimum wage these days have no pride in their work.

Vast majority of drive throughs have workers with no politeness or etiquette. A simple good morning and/or apology for delay goes along way.

Chick Filet kills it because they've made it a mission to well serve the customer. Their food is not that much better than others IMO.

Just take them off your list and save yourself a 5 minute phone call....it's 5 minutes (or more) you'll never get back and even if it's successful, all your getting is BK food out of it. Effort>reward in this case.

The ONLY reason I was there was because two other drive thrus were packed and would have not arrived to work on time waiting in line at those establishments (which with what happened turned out I didn't anyway). The point of the story is just another example of horrendous customer "service". Anyone with any sort of customer service sense would have given the food to the people that they had taken orders from and been waiting in line and then quit taking orders/closed the store until their problems were fixed. There were 2-3 cars behind me that I am sure were every bit as ticked off as I was.

Only fast food that makes it's way to my belly.

Exactly. I bet dollars to doughnuts that had the cash registers went off line at a Chick-fil-a and they couldn't accept money, no one waiting in line at the drive thru that had already placed an order would have went away hungry. THAT I can almost guarantee you.

You do know you were at Burger King, right? They could give a flip. And your story proves my theory - no one ever purposely plans to go to BK, they end up there because the other places are closed or backed-up. I seriously don't know how BK stays in business...talking strictly Fast Food w/drive-thru's:

Chick Fil A and KFC have them beat on the chicken side...

Wendy's has them beat on the burger side....

Arby's has them beat on the "let's get something different" side...

Taco Bell has them beat on the value side (but you'll regret it later)...

Sonic has them beat on drinks and frozen treats...

And McDonalds has them beat on whatever is left.

A trip to BK is literally the worst option.

Going to disagree with you slightly there Dallas. While BK is usually not my first option when going through a fast food drive thru, they do have one of the better value menu double cheese burgers when in the mood for such an item.

OK. That's really bad service. Sounds like my local McDonalds EVERY day.

I prefer the BK burger to any others in the fast food business. If I have a choice, I'll go with Chick Fil A all day.
