Sayveon McEwen from Paducah Tilghman. He's not a stat sheet stuffer but he's super quick and he's what makes PT go.

Bottom line it is hard to narrow it down to 10 players.

I think it's totally fair for a third player from the 5th Region to be considered. Dominique Compton has averaged nearly 30ppg this year and drug Green Co. to 20 wins. GC is 2-1 this season v. Caverna, and Compton outdueled Faulkner each time.

None of this is to downgrade Faulkner, who is an outstanding player who's been a joy to watch for several years now. Just to make sure folks don't forget that Compton is pretty darned good as well. His 48-point outburst v. Shelby Valley is an All A Classic record as well.

He is averaging over 19 ppg shooting 50% FG, 40% 3pt.

Also around 6.8 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.7 spg for one of the top 5 teams in the state.

 

He is getting his points against the top teams in the state.

I think that shows he doesn't have inflated stats from playing weaker competition.

IMO, this speaks volumes. I will go beyond your comment about the inflated stats, which he does not have. I really like seeing kids that play well on the big stage, and/or in big games. Nothing better than seeing them step up against good competition; or in districts, regions, and state.

Strong list but I would take Crawford out and put Ben Weyer in. I think he's talked about 2-1 over Crawford on here.

I know you mentioned him. But as a whole, Tavin doesn't get nearly the love he should for being the best player in the state for 2017. I think we can both probably agree on that.

 

He has done well in AAU as well as high school, but doesnt get the pub because the level of competition he plays against. FS is known to schedule cupcakes, so it makes it more difficult for him to get the exposure he deserves.

Isaiah "Pun" Tisdale is the best player I have seen this season. I haven't seen Carson Williams.

 

Isaiah gets wherever he wants on the floor with the basketball, and sets up teammates to make baskets. He is very difficult to pressure and has about a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. He is very unselfish and has been told multiple times by his coaches to look to score more.

 

He is very much getting looked over by some Division I schools, especially in the state of Kentucky. NKU ought to be begging him to come and run their point the next four years. Sean Woods, where are you? Western Kentucky...Ray Harper...give him the ball and let him get you off the hot seat. EKU...he is in your backyard. I really like what he brings between the lines.

 

He is the kind of player that you really need to see more than just one time to realize how valuable he is to his team.
