I am sure that basketball was not the overriding factor in the family's decision for Ben to attend NCC. He would be playing at the next level regardless of where he played high school.

 

 

Then tell us what was the overriding factor? It isnt rocket science to go back and look at both programs...one on the upswing and another the opposite. Seems an easy decision from that standpoint. From an academic standpoint....couldnt have been a very easy one.

I do not know the reason(s). It could be any number of reasons. My point was that it is unfair for anyone to speculate that it was for basketball.

From Q standpoint I think he knows the answer and is not speculating. Fact is this is what was best for Ben Weyer at the time.

I heard this was actually the case but HHS did not receive any compensation, or future picks, since he did not end up going D1.

Doesn't matter. 11 thru 15 are not a top team. Period.

You lost the bet...Ben Weyer never attended Highlands High School so he did not jump ship as some say. He is not a transfer student. He was enrolled at both high schools and made the decision over the summer as to which high school he wanted to attend. Ben and his family made a decision that was best for him in all aspects of his education - academically, socially. He chose which high school he would like to attend like most students do when leaving middle school. Not sure why this is constantly brought up but its a decision neither he nor his parents regret. FYI - His sister is currently an 8th grader at Highlands Middle School and has the same decision ahead of her. Ben's older sister considered NCC also but chose to go to Highlands.

Yes, several threads vanished as well. I kept blaming TWC but it looks as if there was an issue with the site or a little construction going on.
