He absolutely should be in attendance.

Perhaps the Scalia family sent word that they would be more comfortable with an old K of C boy like Biden, as opposed to an Islamist like Obama, sitting in pew No. 1.

 

I get a kick out of these outrage threads. Everything is an outrage these days. And this one even has its own poll! I'll tune in to Fox tonight to get more of my outrage fix from Greta and Sean about a topic that no one really cares about.

How about a little historical perspective? Nah. It's more fun to assume that the President will be practicing his putting on Saturday and then read from the Koran. How many threads have we had over the years on funerals the president did NOT attend? Been a few. This one even has a poll!

You seem to be saying that if you think Obama should pay his respects at the funeral, you have to be outraged that he is not doing so. Nobody on here is outraged. Frankly whether Bill Clinton went to a funeral of another SC justice or not should not make any difference as to whether Obama goes tomorrow. As a wise person once said, "if you have to ask whether you should go to a funeral, you probably should". He obviously SHOULD go but I am not going to worry much about it. Heck, Scalia's family may not even want him there.

How many of those were sitting Justices? I think most of the ones you named that were not attend were many years retired and not sitting Justices. That IMO does make a difference.
