are we really arguing about if a girl got fouled and/or committed a foul herself on a 3/4 court shot?

 

Ditto; well stated. I say that is a whistle swallower and should have counted if she pushed off, walked and got fouled. I know one thing; most people even commenting here don't have the strength to get that ball to the backboard from that point on the floor much less make the shot!

I could care less about a foul either way and she didn't walk.

 

However, if she had walked, I don't believe that is a whistle swallower at any time.

Other thread stated best player on the floor was #15 HHS.. Couldn't disagree more. She was ONE of the best players on the floor. No disagreement with her performance being one of the better performers just don't believe she was the Best alone!!!!! I believe the Neace performance equaled hers and the final shot solidified her as one of the Best performers of the night.Also great credit has been extended to HHS come back performance. No issue there either however not much credit being thrown to SK's performance in getting such a commanding lead in the first place....That is ok the best to each team in their pursuit of District and Regional Championships in the 9th and 8th .

 

It was me who said it. Neace is the better player and had a good game don't get me wrong she is amazing. I said 15 for HHS was best player last night cause she did a little bit of everything and was sole reason the Birds got back into game. Ally looked tired and the look in her eyes late in game gave me feeling she wasn't feeling well along with a few sloppy passes and seemed a step slow on D which is very much unlike her. Been supporting SK for past 8 years since moved to Independence and love taking my daughter to almost every home game to help her learn by watching. Any player half as talented as Ally is an amazing player. I was just giving credit where it was due last night and that was for #15 for the Birds. Fun game to watch. I hope the Pioneers can put teams away heading into tournament play.

First let me congratulate miss Ally on the 2000..to accomplish that with a bullseye on your back night after night is extraordinary! 2nd, to both teams for playing a great game, and 3rd to the birds who never gave up...which brings me to my final point... In the first half there were only 2 officials on the floor, for whatever reason in the 1st half. In the 2nd half there were 3 officials. The guy, whose name escapes me has been talked about before on this forum on his questionable/bad calls, by many people. In the 1st half SK had 6 or seven team fouls I believe. In the 2nd half they had probably 14 team fouls, the majority called by this guy. Fortunately, he isn't bias as he called quite a few on the birds as well. While I agree that SK stopped attacking the basket and was sloppy at times with their passing, and the birds upped the defensive pressure and shot better in the second half, I think this particular official changed the dynamics of the game as well. Again not taking anything away from a great win for SK or the birds spirited comeback.

Does it really matter? They will be in the region tourney with 7 other teams, most all of which have a shot on any given night to knock off the other. Records from this point forward mean nothing.

In high school basketball in Kentucky they mean absolutely nothing for all teams both boys and girls because everyone gets in. Most good coaches know to never overlook and opponent because it only takes one night to knock you out.

Gaudy records can also be an indicator of too soft a schedule. The regular season is just preparation for the post season. If your team is prepared and matured for the post season, you have accomplished your mission irregardless of record.
