You could argue that Simon is the best team in NKY regardless of region. If you put them in the ninth they would be co favorites along with Holmes and Ryle. After that, Anderson/Shelby/Walton are probably all about the same as the next level of teams in the 9th. However, the 9th is stronger 5-8.

 

There isn't a team in the 9th that would "automatically" win the 8th. Ryle/Holmes would both be the favorite if they replaced simon (just like simon is the favorite now) but they aren't automatic winners. Anderson already beat holmes. Walton/Shelby are also capable of beating one of the favorites. Both the 8th and the 9th should be great tournaments!

How is Cooper even an afterthought in this conversation? And if the Courier journal feels that there aren't better teams than Cooper out of the rest of the 9th region, they need to just keep writing about the metro teams down there. As for pick 1, I would love to see that game, p2 & p3, I agree with because looking at their schedules, Anderson and Shelby haven't played many quality opponents. As for p4, I agree only because of Martin coming around for NDA. If not for that they lose to WV for sure. Don't like either team in p5. Agree with p6 but I still think people think HC is the same team as last year..not even close. Agree with pk 7 because Collins is another team that doesn't play anyone. Totally disagree with p8, Refer to my opening comment on this post.

You use the injury excuse alot. SK has had injuries all season so has other teams.

 

I only use it when someone tries to justify their argument with this and that. It's true and had a big effect on their season and record. Go back and look, in any HHS thread I commented in , win or lose, I say they still could have done better and they still had a chance to win. But when you talk as a season as a whole, injuries played a big part in their record. It is what it is. Not excuse. Heck, they had a 2-3 game stretch where both their starting PGs were out. If I could tell you all their injuries, you'd be surprised they actually have the records they do!

Cooper beat Gallatin 70-53 this year. So that's already been determined.

 

Cooper is not bad at all. They can score. They scored more points on us than anyone on our schedule. Our coaches will tell you they are the best offensive team they have played. They just don't play much defense!

 

Cooper averages 59ppg

Holmes 63ppg (and we know they like to score!)

I'd pick WV to win their match up from your list..and give the 9th region teams the nod in all your other listed games with SK Vs Holmes being squeaker.

Anderson has played mercy, mercer, Lincoln, franklin, Boyle, Holmes, Allen county, Clark, Walton, Shelby, Lafayette.

 

Shelby isn't quite as impressive, but have played male and franklin late in the season as well as Trimble and Anderson (twice).
