hidinout Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Nice work Obama . Totally awesome . Freed Gitmo detainee, ex-bin Laden aide cements place as top jihadist in videos | Fox News
Jumper_Dad Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Crickets from the President's apologist on BGP. I honestly try not to criticize each and every decision the President makes they way some on here do. But anyone that didn't see something like this coming was either blind or stupid or just doesn't care...I put the President in the last group, I just don't think he cares that the people he releases are going to take arms up against others as soon as they got home.

Sadly, I believe you're correct.

TexasRanger Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Obama's options were: 1. Keep them locked up forever. 2. Let them go, knowing that there's a high probability they will kill Americans again if given the chance. 3. Death sentence Had these bad guys been associated with a specific country that we are or were at war with, I get the release option. We are NOT at war with any country, thus option 2 makes no sense.
Jesse James Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 These decisions are why I do not like Obama. Said many times I think he would be a cool dude to hang out with and I would probably get along great with him except for Politics.

You can pick any President apart for a lot of things, and we all know that Obama has probably had it the worst, whether warranted or not. But it was a completely unacceptable decision at the time and the sad thing is, many will brush this under the rug and some even still defend it. Embarrassing.

I don't like any of the above decisions. 1 and 3 only help recruit more jihadists. 2 Helps recruit more jihadists. I don't know what you do with them. Maybe they have a chip in them and we can drone strike anytime we need to, or maybe some of these guys are turned, and are now double agents. It's not as easy as just leaving them locked up down there in Gitmo.
THE SHERIFF Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Typically when people are taken as POWs they will not be released until the conflict is over. Unfortunately these murderers are released to rejoin a conflict that is ongoing. Makes no sense at all!
NKY Bandit Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Prolly learned a lot of interrogation tactics from our friends in the CIA.

If I'm one of these guys with their beliefs, I'm praying for #2, with the hope that I can kill you on down the road. Do like the Chinese, build a island in middle ocean, drop them off, drop food an water monthly. These dude's just aren't your typical soldier.

This is something we have never faced ever, and we are learning as we go the wrong and right moves.
