He showed flashes of this against lower level D1 competition, and in the Exhibition games. Same reason NBA scouts were so high on him. I also said in the following sentences that he's not physically ready yet, and he can't show that against stronger players on the high major level yet. Once he gets stronger, you'll get to see that. He's 19. Has to fill out and be able to take the pounding he gets against stronger players. Right now he gets manhandled physically, which takes away a lot. All in all, I'm still taking him over any KY kid this year.

I wasn't arguing. I just wanted that key point to be made for other posters. :lol2: Yeah he's not that strong right now and is struggling, but his ceiling is much higher on any level than any of our in state kids coming out in this 2016 class. No knock on our kids. Just is what it is.

I wasn't implying that you were arguing, I was putting that out there for that 1 guy who will come in a disagree with everything because he's a UK fan boy. And yes, had he been a KY high school player, he'd be considered the greatest thing since basketball was invented.

I have watched alot of bball over the last couple years. Ive seen several of the aforementioned in state players. I have seen several D1 type kids, but I havent really seen the star power that some people are seeing here. I would love to see some of these guys in blue, and we have 2 (Willis and Hawkins) who have made the trek. If you dont think those 2 guys can play, your crazy. It is very difficult as a biased fan to truly understand the athletic abilities of the different levels of sport, even when the participants are supposedly playing at the same level

He had assistants at a couple of Trinity's games in the past couple of years before Spalding committed. I remember vividly seeing Orlando Antigua his Jr. season at a game at Trinity, and then he was shouted out on the news showing that he was there. Snider and Spalding committed (then de-committed, committed somewhere else, and re-committed in Snider's case) before their senior seasons started, but I honestly wouldn't see him getting an offer when they already had Ullis, Hawkins, and the Harrisons in the fold at the time. It is always great to see in state kids at UK or UofL for that matter. There is one name to keep a look out for. He's in New Albany, but he is in Louisville all the time and that's Romeo Langford. Is a sophomore tearing it up in Indiana. He's top 20 nationally in his class. I think Cal is talking to him from what I'm hearing.

I will say this about UK: I think without Darius Miller (Mason County) they don't get that National Championship and without Derek Willis (Bullitt East) this year stepping up they wouldn't be as successful as they have been of late. I also always like to drag out my " Chris Lofton (Mason County) isn't good enough to play here lament no matter how much he wants to play here ". Personally, I like the long view but I can't live and die Blue when I can't keep up with the player names without a que card. JOHMO

 

Excalty Willis saved UK's butt from the fire this year. Without him and with the bust the #1 player Skal they would be a NIT team.

Who said at-large? I think NKU can win that league next year with Williams, Faulkner and the big Alabama transfer who came with their coach this season. He had to sit out this season. Other than Valpo, the Horizon League is mediocre. Remember that Butler is no longer in that league, nor is Loyola of Chicago. When those two programs left, the Horizon became a lesser league. NKU can win it next year if Williams and Faulkner play like I expect. One of my buddies who follows NKU said they are going to have the Horizon Freshman of the Year this season, and he is nowhere as talented as either Williams or Faulkner. That should tell you a lot about how good NKU will be next year.

I for one agree NKU is a program that has a tremendous upside. You dismiss the existing players like they are garbage. Come on!

 

Have you been to a NKU game this year or is your only agenda to promote Williams? I love Carson's game and think he will be a great addition to NKU however he can't do it alone. He needs more than Faulkner.

 

Did a little research on the EYBL website and confirmed McDonald and Williams were on the same team that went to he Peach Jam in 2014. Some stats from the season.

Williams is a good player in Kentucky, how did he do against top notch competition in the AAU circuit?
