Fat people like tables. You can control how close to the table. So, I like a table or bar.

If Mrs GT and I are out without the little one, we always sit at the bar. A booth if little miss GT is with us...

I don't eat out often, we can cook better food than most chain restaurants do. But when I do it's usually the bar to avoid the wait. If there is no wait, then it's usually a booth. I can't stand to have to sit and yell at the people next to me to have a conversation with them. Nor do I expect the people around me to want to hear my conversation.

 

If its myself and a couple of buddy's watching a game, I don't mind sitting at the bar, in fact I prefer it at a couple of places. But if I'm with family or or anyone I need to have a legit conversation with, the bar is out of question. In that scenario a booth wins out, hands down.

If it's a restaurant, booth or table.

 

If it's a bar/grill and I'm with my wife, booth or table. If by myself, bar. (remember youngins, I'm older)

Went to knotty pine tonight with the bride. No reservations. As always with no reservations we sat at the bar.

Prefer a booth with back to a wall or corner area so I can see the majority of open space. Can't stand having my back to most of the patrons around.

 

The bar is good with just two people, more than that, its kind of awkward.

 

I'll walk out of a place if there are no seats left with a back to a wall, that goes for the break room at work or anywhere in general. I never sit where people can come in behind me

MrsC and I are sit at the bar people.

My wife prefers a booth but I like a regular table. It seems like 90% of the time when I sit in a booth I get some goof behind me that flops around in it like a fish out of water. Totally ruins a good meal.

1st preference is high top table in the bar area.

 

2nd choice is the bar.

 

3rd would be a booth.

 

Never a table. We'd rather just wait longer to have one of the 1st 3 options than have the miserable experience of sitting in a table in the middle of a restaurant. If it's a group of people (6 or more), we'll do a table, but never when it's just us.

I rarely go to a restaurant alone, so the bar is not the place to eat with someone and converse, unless you get 2 corner seats.

 

Mrs. S can't work with the high tops.

 

I hate booths. Like RTS, I seem to always get the kid playing football in the next booth, or somebody who likes to constantly shift. There is nothing worse than needing to hit the head real bad and having to wait while one or more people slide out, so you can get out.
