Kentucky may not matter but the votes sure mattered in the Governors race didnt it? Hellcats you are a sore loser and I pray to God you are going to be another sore loser come the Presidents election. Like I said if any of you think our country is headed in the right direction you are nuts. Look at our country, we are so divided its unreal. Lines have been drawn by both sides. This is not going to end well for our country and that is a fact and its getting worse. What about this do you all not see or understand? Why do you think a guy like Trump has so much support? People are tired and will do whatever to change this. What issues are you open to conceding some ground on in order to benefit the country and move our nation in the "right" direction (no pun intended)?

February 15, 201610 yr It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. Since Obama will likely nominate a Leftist, the Senate will have a choice to make. Delay and not schedule hearings on the nomination, or allow hearings and then Bork the Nominee. This can easily be dragged out to the end of the year. I know there will be a debate over which party benefits the most from such tactics and a case can be made for either side. In my opinion, the conservative base will be extremely fired up for the election if this an issue come November. This is the voter base that stayed home the last two Presidential elections because McCain and Romney were too moderate. Put this group of voters back in the mix, and the GOP stands to benefit big. Of course the Left would argue that Pro Choice voters and Immigration reform voters would show up in droves as well. I do not doubt this, but they already showed up for Obama in huge numbers. It is very unlikely that those numbers could increase enough from those already high levels to offset the Conservative turnout.
February 15, 201610 yr If Obama does indeed appoint someone "reasonable," McConnell likely will have a hard time keeping his coalition together -- especially if the GOP shows signs of splitting over the presidential nominee. Doesn't happen often TTP but I agree with you. I think McConnell stepped in it when he came out so early and said what he did...no reason for him to do that. He should have said, "tonight is not the time to talk about the process of selecting Justice Scalia's replacement. Plenty of time for that later". Then later he should have said, "President Obama has the job of nominating the next SC justice and we in the Senate have the job of deciding to confirm or not"...

I could concede on alot of the social programs believe it or not ,health care etc. None on moral issues, abortion etc. I think we need to have reform on the justice department. I think like alot of the left that we send way too many people to prison( especially drug related, where they need help not prison for alot of them, not all). I think our current administration is way to easy on immigration and I am for fixing trying to fix the southern border to stop the illegal flow of immigrants. I also think we give away way to much money to other countries when ours is in need. I am all for giving as long as we have it and the cause is just. 19T in debt is we dont have it anymore, thats not hard to figure out.

February 15, 201610 yr So the left stalls and circumvents the process and the right cries. The right does the same and the left cries. Everyone screams for compromise but really only wants the other side to do the compromising.
