SCOTUS Nomination Battle

He leads Trump in head to head matchup. Apparently socialism is preferable over Trumpism at this point.

I don't care what the polls say now. After months of ads running tying him to socialism he will fall . Hillary isn't attacking his socialism right now because she can't. She can't lose the hardcore left wing fringe.

Science care to wager that if its Bernie vs Trump on who wins?

So the left stalls and circumvents the process and the right cries. The right does the same and the left cries. Everyone screams for compromise but really only wants the other side to do the compromising.

Anyone who thinks the two major parties don't use the exact same playbook simply has not been paying attention. For decades.

I'm aware and it's just a mutated form of socialism. No matter how they paint the picture any form of socialism restricts freedom. When you put a ceiling on success freedom is gone.

I just want Bernie to put the kibash on ill-gotten gain. Oh, and he if re-distributes some of All Tell's wealth along the way, that will be okay too.

I would never, ever wish something bad to happen to anyone, not Judge Scalia , not Kim Davis, not even All Tell. Never, EVER! However, now that he has passed, I will say that if there is one SC judge that I would rather he be picking out drapes with Jesus than arguing on the High Court , it would be Antonin Scalia. He has done considerable damage in thirty years from his Supreme seat. It's time to move further left. It will likely be Hillary's move to make.

Perfect example of the thinking of the mid-far Left.

If HRC does not become POTUS I think we better have some quality counseling lined up for you SF. :lol2:

There ain't none there to be had, I'm strictly paycheck to paycheck. Spent to many years in academia (the belly of the beast) to be wealthy. I just don't feel like my lack of wealth should be corrected by taking away from someone else. After 10 years of being a non-teaching employee of a college my definition of ill-gotten gain is how tenured professors are compensated but I digress.

Then again thanks to Obamacare my insurance co-pays and deductibles have gotten so high all I have is basically major medical (used to like my plan too, Obama said I could keep it, he lied) so I guess from that stand point you got your wish.

I beg your pardon. :) No, seriously, considering the sorry job that some tenured professors do, I can't disagree. Some do terrific jobs and earn their pay; others, not so much.

How much could they be paid before they stop earning it and it becomes ill-gotten?

Sure, if Democrats feel the Bern and he beats Hillary, we'll make a friendly little wager. Unfortunately, I don't think it is likely to happen unless Hillary gets thrown in the pokey.

The ones that I was referring to "earn" very little, mainly because they do so little teaching of anything. Now, at the school where I teach , I can just about guarantee you that all of our tenured professors earn everything they are paid and more. Not true everywhere, however. I doubt if there are too many college teachers getting independently wealthy , though. I wonder how many UK professors' salaries would add to equal Coach Cal salary?

Nevermind.

There hasn't been an appointment during an election year in over 80 years.. I doubt there will be one in this cycle..

Besides Justice Kennedy after the Bork nominee died?

An interesting issue going forward is what impact Scalia's passing will have on upcoming SCOTUS rulings. I've read that in the case of 4-4 votes, that lower court rulings will stand as "affirmed by an equally divided court". I have also read that there may be cases where Stephens will side with the more liberal members of the court.

If Hillary loses the nomination to my man, Bern, maybe Obama could put up Hillary for the SC nominee. The lady would look mighty good in that black robe--- A helluva lot better than Uncle Clarence looks in his white sheets.
